Author/Source: Coal Chemical Engineering 114 Forum Date: August 16, 2020 Clicks: 39 On August 13, 2020, the No. 1 fly ash incinerator in the EPC project for the Jiamin Kexin Industrial Gas facility in Gao’an, Jiangxi Province, which was constructed under the general contract of China Wuhuan Company (referred to as the Gao’an project), successfully completed the process transition and achieved stable operation with complete combustion of residual carbon. Starting at 12:18 on August 13, Furnace No. 1 for incinerating fly ash operated in a mode of burning a 50/50 mixture of gasified char and coal; gradually increasing the proportion of char fed into the furnace as planned. At 15:45, it was switched to burning solely gasified char, achieving stable operation with 100% use of gasified char. As of the time of writing, all parameters and technical indicators are normal. The project is divided into 4 series, with a total of 16 set of atmospheric-pressure circulating fluidized bed gasifiers, designed to produce 9 billion Nm3 of clean industrial gas with a calorific value of 1500 kcal/Nm3 per year. All the equipment and devices used in this project are of domestic manufacture. Once completed, it will become the world’s largest coal-based clean industrial gas project, providing strong momentum for the development of new economic activities in the region and facilitating rapid industrial upgrading. It holds milestone significance in the history of transformation and green development of the ceramics industry. This project consists of a gasification unit, waste heat and energy recovery power generation units, air separation units, utility systems and auxiliary facilities, as well as a gas pipeline network within the park. The gasification unit uses CXL6000I circulating fluidized bed oxygen-enriched gasification furnaces, which were jointly developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Huangtai Gas Furnace Co., Ltd.; there are a total of 16 such furnaces with a capacity of 72,000 Nm3/h each ; The waste heat and waste energy power generation unit includes 3 130T boilers, 3 N45 turbines, and 1 C25 turbine ; The air separation unit consists of 2×32,000 capacity air separation units and 1 set of 6,000 Nm3/h all-liquid air separation unit; these three air separation units share two 16,000 KW electrically driven isothermal centrifugal raw air compressors. Located in Gao’an City, known as the \"China Building Ceramics Industry Base,\" this project aims to optimize the energy structure of this industry base, promote circular transformation within the park, foster the development of clean energy and environmental protection industries, and contribute to the healthy and harmonious development of the city’s economy and social sectors. Jimin Kexin Group has invested in the construction of a centralized supply system for clean industrial gas at this site in Jiangxi Province’s building ceramics industry base. The project is carried out by Jimin Kexin (Gao’an) Clean Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of around 6.5 billion yuan. It covers an area of over 1,600 mu, and it is planned to build a facility capable of producing 13 billion Nm3 of clean industrial gas per year, with a calorific value of 1,500 kcal/Nm3; meanwhile, a power generation project utilizing waste heat and energy will also be established.
