Review Meeting for the Boiler Island Design of Inner Mongolia Jiu Tai New Materials’ Coal-based Ethylene Glycol Production Project Held / Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemical Industry / Date: 12-17-2018 / Clicks: 5. On December 12th and 13th, Inner Mongolia Jiu Tai New Materials Co., Ltd., together with Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., Southwest Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., Dongfang Boiler Co., Ltd., and Air Products China Investment Co., Ltd., held a review meeting to assess the preliminary design for the boiler island of the project aimed at producing 1 million tons of ethylene glycol per year; at the same time, the first design coordination meeting for this boiler island was also held. In accordance with the construction schedule outlined by the company’s general management office for the winter shutdown period, Inner Mongolia Jutai New Materials Co., Ltd. made use of this time to focus on completing the review of the basic design plans and the bidding process for its 1 million-ton coal-based ethylene glycol project, in order to get the project underway in 2019. During the review meeting, the participants examined a total of 69 specific items across 13 different specialties in the preliminary design plan for the boiler island, including thermal engines, ash removal, HVAC systems, and thermal control systems, and all parties signed to confirm them ; The first design coordination meeting for the boiler island, held during the same period, also addressed important matters such as the exchange of documents among all parties, considerations in designing the boiler ventilation system, and the tight sealing of the boiler. It is reported that in the next steps, preliminary design review meetings, technical exchanges, and contract negotiations will follow one after another. The review of proposals and the bidding process will be carried out in a concentrated manner as planned, while the bidding for long-term-use equipment and for construction contractors next year will also take place sequentially. All employees worked hard and with great determination, taking advantage of the winter break to organize and summarize various tasks and make steady progress in them, thus laying a solid foundation for the smooth commencement of construction activities at the beginning of spring. The 1 million-ton per year ethylene glycol production project of Inner Mongolia Jiu Tai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park in Hohhot, covering a total area of 2,565 mu, with a total investment of 13.3 billion yuan. Among them, Air Products Inc. of the United States invested 4.8 billion yuan to construct the air separation and gasification areas. Upon operation, it is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 10.6 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 3.66 billion yuan, playing a significant role in addressing the shortcomings in Hohhot’s industrial sector. The project uses aerospace coal gasification and Shell’s gasification process technologies, low-temperature methanol washing technology, as well as the world-leading formaldehyde hydroxymethylation process technology developed by Davy Company to produce ethylene glycol. Meanwhile, Inner Mongolia Joutai New Materials Co., Ltd. plans to build a production facility for polyoxymethylene with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons. The facility will be located to the northeast of the ethylene glycol storage area, and its construction will include production units such as a formaldehyde concentration unit (with a capacity of 9×104 tons per year), a trioxymethane unit (with a capacity of 6×104 tons per year), a dioxolane unit (with a capacity of 0.375×104 tons per year), and a polyoxymethylene unit (with a capacity of 6×104 tons per year) ; The supporting utility and auxiliary production facilities include: substations, finished product warehouses, control rooms, water supply and drainage systems, and other auxiliary production facilities, all of which rely on the ethylene glycol plant located outside the boundary area. Total project investment: The total investment amounts to 1,569.91 million yuan.
