On April 8, Liu Junyi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Luan Group, along with Ma Junxiang, Deputy General Manager, met with Guo Jianxiong, the head of Lingshi County. The two sides had in-depth discussions on how to leverage their respective strengths to work together on the development of projects for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas. General Manager Liu Junyi introduced the industrial development strategy of Lu’an Group, which focuses on \"one main sector, three auxiliary sectors, and two areas for development.\" As the core business of Lu’an Group, modern coal chemical industry has, in recent years, seen the completion and operation of a model project that represents a major transformation effort in Shanxi Province – an integrated demonstration project for the clean utilization of high-sulfur coal for oil, chemicals, electricity, and heating. This project operates steadily and efficiently. Additionally, the group has established the only **-level research and development center for coal-based synthetic engineering technology in Shanxi Province; through technological research and development and application, it has accumulated extensive experience in the development of the coal chemical industry as well as strong technical capabilities. Developing comprehensive utilization projects for coke oven gas by leveraging cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology with independent intellectual property rights can not only help improve the quality and level of the traditional coking industry but also aligns with the provincial party committee’s and government’s vision for coal chemical projects to be \"high-end, differentiated, market-oriented, and environmentally friendly.\" Lu’an will use the best available technologies and services to ensure that these projects are implemented as soon as possible and start yielding results promptly. County Magistrate Guo Jianxiong said that Lingshi County is a major producer of coal and coke, boasting excellent resource conditions, industrial infrastructure, and an favorable investment environment ； As a large state-owned enterprise group in Shanxi Province, Lu’an Group possesses unique technical advantages in the field of coal chemical industry. Developing projects for the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas in cooperation with Lu’an Group is in line with the trend of upgrading small-scale coking facilities and expanding large-scale ones in the province’s coking industry, as well as with the policy requirements of \"three modernizations and one transformation.\" Therefore, the prospects for such cooperation are very promising. Lingshi County **will provide a favorable environment for development. It is hoped that a project team can be established to develop a timeline and task plan, so as to advance the implementation of the project swiftly together. On March 27, the signing ceremony for the cooperative framework agreement on the comprehensive utilization of coking furnace gas generated at an annual rate of 2 million tons, involving the People’s Government of Yuanping City in Shanxi Province, Shanxi Lu’an Chemical Company, and Shanxi Xinsi Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd., was held in Taiyuan. The comprehensive utilization project for coke oven gas associated with a coke oven capable of producing 2 million tons per year requires a total investment of 1.12 billion yuan. It is located in the Yuanping Economic Development Zone of Yuanping City, and takes advantage of the ongoing coal chemical and coking project in Shanxi Province that has an annual production capacity of 2 million tons. By leveraging the synergies between upstream and downstream industries, this project uses cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology to produce fine chemicals from coke oven gas, while also leaving room for development in the hydrogen industry.
