**Latest Progress on the Yulin Coal Chemical Project of the Energy Group / Author/Source: Coal Chemical Industry 114 Forum / Date: 2021-06-17 / Clicks: 18 On the morning of June 16, the handover ceremony for the Shenhua Yulin Ethylene Glycol project, constructed by the Fifth Engineering Company of 11th Construction Corporation, was held. This part of the project commenced in July 2018 and was completed in June 2021, taking three years in total. A total of 7,100 tons of steel structure installation was completed, with process piping amounting to 465,000 inches. 437 units of static and dynamic equipment were installed, 440 sets of pipeline pressure testing were carried out, 450,000 meters of electrical cables were used, and 530,000 meters of instrument cables were used. 3,600 instrument circuits were tuned, and 55,000 square meters of fire protection measures were implemented. Finally, the interim handover certificate was signed in the presence of the project owner, supervisor, and construction contractor. It is understood that the first-phase project of the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Coal Comprehensive Utilization Project is a preliminary phase of this project (the CTC project). It also serves as a facility for producing methanol raw materials to support the already completed Shenhua Shaanxi Methanol Downstream Processing Project (SSMTO). The construction scope includes the production of 1.8 million tons per year of methanol along with 400,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol. The facility comprises various process units such as air separation, coal gasification, shift reaction, acidic gas removal, methanol synthesis, sulfur recovery, and ethylene glycol production, along with the necessary utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Once completed, it will enable integrated production and management with the SSMTO project.
