On August 3rd and 4th, a team of experts from Sinopec Beijing Research Institute went to Zhongan United to discuss techniques related to the development of new polyolefin products; Zhou Lijin, the leader of the coal chemical division, along with relevant technical staff, participated in these discussions. Increasing efforts in product development and raising the added value of products are important measures taken by Zhongan United to enhance its products’ competitiveness in the market. Since the commissioning of the coal chemical project, the main production units have achieved stable and high levels of output. As of July, the production and sales volume of polyolefin products exceeded 400,000 tons, and the share of these products in the market of Anhui Province has also increased significantly. While Zhongan United has achieved satisfactory results in the production and sales of its main products, its coal chemical manufacturing operations have revealed issues such as a relatively limited range of products and the need to improve the production conditions of the relevant facilities, which have become bottlenecks hindering the company’s continued success. An expert team from the Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Technology conducted an assessment of the problems existing in Zhongan United’s polyolefin production. Taking into account the characteristics of Zhongan United’s facilities, they analyzed the feasibility and economic viability of developing new polyolefin products, and provided recommendations for improving the coal chemical production processes at Zhongan United.
