Basic Information on the Project 1 Project Name: Environmental Protection Project for the Recovery and Treatment of Acidic Waste Gas by Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Co., Ltd. 2 Location of Construction: Houzhen Chemical Industry Park, Shouguang City, Weifang City, Shandong Province 3 Project Overview: Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Co., Ltd. is a large-scale chemical manufacturing enterprise focused on coal chemistry; it was established in January 2000 with a registered capital of 660 million yuan. The company is mainly engaged in the production and sales of urea, synthetic ammonia, methanol, liquid CO2, and sulfur. In 2011, Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Co., Ltd. launched a project to move out of the city and into a industrial park, relocating its production facilities located in the urban area to the Houzhen Chemical Industrial Park; the facility was completed and put into operation by the end of 2012. The current production project at the plant is the “40.60” project, with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year of ammonia, 200,000 tons per year of methanol, and 600,000 tons per year of urea. Shandong Lianmeng Chemical Co., Ltd. plans to carry out technical upgrades to the ammonia synthesis section of the \"40.60\" project. Advanced domestic technologies will be employed for the coal gasification process, gas purification process, and ammonia synthesis process. The production capacity will remain unchanged after these upgrades. This project will be constructed simultaneously with the \"40.60\" upgrade project; an additional set of equipment for recovering acidic waste gases will be installed to handle the acidic waste gases generated as a result of the \"40.60\" upgrade project. Wet acid production technology will be used to produce sulfuric acid with a concentration of 92.5–98% from hydrogen sulfide gas generated during coal gasification and gas purification, with a production capacity of 15,000 tons per year.
