On September 3, the Pingdingshan Science and Technology Bureau issued a notice regarding the allocation of the budget for municipal-level major scientific and technological projects for 2020. According to Document No. Ping Cai Yu [2020] 443, issued by the Pingdingshan Finance Bureau and the Pingdingshan Science and Technology Bureau, the project \"Research and Industrial Application of New Caprolactam Processes\" carried out by China Pingmei Shenma Group Nylon Technology Company was selected as one of the major scientific and technological projects in Pingdingshan for 2020 after going through material reviews, expert evaluations, and public announcements. It received financial support of 2 million yuan (1 million yuan in the initial phase and another 1 million yuan as a follow-up subsidy), making it one of the two major scientific and technological projects in Pingdingshan to receive the highest level of funding support. Following the initial application process, the Science and Technology Bureau organized experts within the province to evaluate the project; ultimately, it received unanimous approval from experts at both the provincial and municipal levels, and was designated as a major science and technology project for the city in 2020. This recognition not only affirms the value of this research and development project but also underscores the technological strength of Nylon Technology Company. To date, since its operation began in 2015, Nylon Technology Company has received two major municipal-level projects. It is understood that as a high-tech enterprise, Nylon Technology Company currently has two provincial-level R&D platforms, and was recognized as a Henan Province Enterprise Technology Center at the end of 2019. A high-level innovation system of \"one high-tech enterprise, one center, and two platforms\" has been established, aiming to build a technology-driven and innovative nylon chemicals company. Nylon Technology Company has always attached great importance to technological innovation, and with the goal of establishing a first-class domestic research center for the nylon industry, it continues to increase its investment. The research center is staffed with technical managers, R&D personnel, laboratory technicians, as well as those responsible for daily management and engineering tasks, forming an R&D team of 55 members. Among them, there is 1 professor-level senior engineer, 8 senior engineers, and 15 people with postgraduate degrees. Relying on its central laboratory, the research center has established a scientific research facility covering an area of over 5,000 square meters, with a total investment in equipment amounting to nearly 30 million yuan. It has specialized analysis and testing rooms such as a chromatography room, an atomic absorption room, a chemical analysis room, and a balance room. It is equipped with pilot-scale devices for microfluidic field reactions, high-pressure reactor experiments, and catalyst evaluation, and possesses the capability to carry out pilot-scale development of technologies related to adipic acid and caprolactam production as well as downstream processes. At present, the center is preparing a sub-lab facility for the **Key Laboratory on the Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Coking Coal Resources of the group. This is intended to address the shortage of small-scale simulation testing equipment in the laboratory, as well as to lay the groundwork for the implementation of future research projects. Nylon Technology Company has successfully completed one major project in Henan Province, won one second prize for scientific and technological progress at the provincial level, and received one special prize for scientific and technological progress in Pingdingshan City. It is thus the only company to have won the group’s special prize for scientific and technological achievements twice in three years. To date, the company has filed 8 invention patents, 55 utility model patents, and 2 software copyrights. It has been granted 3 invention patents, 32 utility model patents, and 1 software copyright, and has published over 30 scientific papers. At present, the second phase of Nylon Technology Company’s project, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of caprolactam, along with the accompanying facility capable of producing 150,000 tons per year, has been fully completed and has now entered the trial production stage. On the premise of ensuring safe and stable production, strengthening the development of scientific and technological research platforms and enhancing innovation and R&D capabilities are essential conditions for maintaining a company’s advantages and strengthening its core competitiveness. In 2020, Nylon Technology Company launched a total of 26 research projects, with a research and development budget of 135.5 million yuan. Current major research projects include the Pingdingshan City key science and technology initiatives \"Research on New Processes for Caprolactam and Their Industrial Application\" and \"Research and Application of Homogeneous Decomposition Techniques in Cyclohexane Oxidation Processes\". There are also capacity expansion projects such as \"Improvement and Application of Energy-saving and Environment-friendly Technologies for Caprolactam Production\" and \"Research and Transformation of Techniques to Enhance the Efficiency of Cyclohexanol Production Facilities\". “ Nylon Technology Company will make full use of the functions of its \"two centers\" (the Henan Province Nylon Raw Materials Engineering Research Center and the Henan Province Nylon Intermediates Engineering Technology Research Center), as well as other innovation platforms such as high-tech enterprises, intelligent factories in the advanced manufacturing sector, and smart enterprises. It will increase efforts in the research and development of nylon intermediates, use technological innovation to drive high-quality development, and thereby provide impetus for the sustainable growth of the company. Next, Nylon Technology plans to combine the recruitment of industry experts and professional technicians with in-house training in order to build a high-quality R&D team over a period of 3-5 years. It will also keep an eye on the R&D developments in related fields both domestically and internationally, engage in collaborative research selectively, and conduct project exchanges and acquisitions with relevant universities and research institutions. Through technology acquisition and collaborative research, it aims to continuously improve its existing technical capabilities. ”Li Benbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Nylon Technology Company, said.
