The first large-scale equipment for the gasification unit of the second phase of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s coal-based gas production project was successfully lifted into place. At 11 a.m. on November 26, the first piece of equipment for the gasification unit of the second phase of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million tons per year integrated refining and chemical processing project – namely the lockhopper (31702-V-1001) – was successfully lifted into place by Sinochem Sixth Construction Co., Ltd. This lock box has dimensions of φ2.6×9.4 meters and a weight of 65 tons. It was installed at the 13.5-meter level of the gasification steel frame, using a 1250-ton crawler crane as the main lifting device, with a 90-meter reach crawler crane serving as an auxiliary crane; it was lifted into place in one go from above the 39-meter-high concrete frame used for gasification, which earned high praise from the project owner, supervisors, and the project team on site. Located in the Green Petrochemical Base in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, this project is one of the key initiatives under the construction of the China (Zhejiang) Free Trade Pilot Zone. Construction began in April 2020, with completion expected by March 2021. The LiuHuaJian project department and construction teams organized technical, quality, and safety personnel in advance to attend discussions on the lifting plan and the JHA risk analysis, and provided professional safety training for the workers involved in the construction. Before the lifting operation began, the safety and technical supervisors provided detailed instructions to all workers, ensuring a safe and reliable environment for the entire lifting process. The successful lifting of this lock hopper marks the official commencement of the equipment installation work for Phase II of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s coal-based gas production project, specifically for Area I of the gasification unit. This lays a solid foundation for the subsequent pipeline installation and the successful commissioning of the project.
