On March 5, the first large-scale equipment for the formaldehyde synthesis unit of this project, namely tower B for methacetal purification, was successfully installed – this work was carried out by Sinochem Third Construction’s Inner Mongolia branch, which is responsible for building the first phase of this facility owned by Shandong Energy Group’s Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy Chemicals Company, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of polymethoxydimethyl ether. The first-phase project of Yanzhou Coal Industry Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of polymethoxymethane, is located in Jinjitantan Town, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. Sinochem Third Construction’s Inner Mongolia branch is responsible for the installation of the formaldehyde synthesis unit, with a deadline set for mechanical completion by June 30 this year. It is reported that there are a total of 16 large-scale pieces of equipment in this system, of which 6 weigh over 100 tons. Among them, Methyl acetal refining tower B is 60.95 meters tall and has a lifting weight of 107 tons. For the lifting operation, a 360-ton crawler crane is used as the main crane, with a 150-ton crawler crane serving as an auxiliary crane. The second phase of the Yanzhou Yulin Methanol Plant involves an investment of 4.596 billion yuan, with an annual production capacity of 900,000 tons of methanol and 500,000 tons of polymethoxymethane. Construction on this project began in November 2017, and it is currently the largest polymethoxymethane production project under construction in China. The construction of the DMMn plant is carried out in two stages: first, a plant with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons is built, and then a plant with a capacity of 400,000 tons is constructed. To date, there are no existing examples of DMMn plants in operation in China. The DMMn plant with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons, which is under the general contract of Hualu Company, is currently the largest single coal-to-methanol-based DMMn plant in the country. The project uses one oxygen generation unit with a capacity of 92,000 Nm3/h ； Gasification is carried out using the multi-nozzle (opposed-type) water-coal slurry gasification technology owned by Yankuang Group, with a total effective gas production capacity of 240,800 Nm3/h. Three gasifiers with a capacity of 2,000 t/d each are installed (2 with quenching systems and 1 with a semi-waste boiler), operating in a 2-operational-1-backup configuration ； The purification unit employs the Dalian University of Technology low-temperature methanol washing process ； Methanol synthesis utilizes technology from East China University of Science and Technology ； Distillation employs the Tiantai Beiyang five-column methanol distillation technology, with a processing capacity of 5,000 tons per day in total.
