Luxi Group: People-oriented approach to upgrading dust removal equipment. Author/Source: Sinochem New Network. Date: June 25, 2021. Clicks: 12. The Manufacturing and Engineering Group, which is part of Luxi Group, is a heavy equipment manufacturing enterprise that specializes in the production of heat exchangers, tower equipment, and evaporation cooling systems; welding is the most common type of work carried out by this group. Due to limitations in the working area, a large amount of dust is generated during operations, which affects the health of employees. To minimize or eliminate the smoke and dust generated during welding operations, the heavy equipment workshop is equipped with numerous mobile dust collectors, thereby reducing the impact of welding fumes on the workers’ health. To further improve dust removal efficiency, Luxi Group has taken additional measures by implementing a comprehensive upgrade plan for its dust removal equipment; fixed dust removal devices have been installed throughout the factories, significantly improving the working conditions for employees. Dust collector ducts and suction arms. Zhang Tongfeng, head of the Second Engineering Division, explained on site that the installation of fixed dust collectors is a key project this year aimed at improving the working environment for employees. The project is overseen in its entirety by the Director of the Operations Department; the Equipment Function is responsible for overall implementation, while the Scheduling Function coordinates all efforts. Each production unit handles the respective segments of production and installation. The Second Engineering Division has now installed 8 fixed dust collectors, and through the installation of air ducts, full coverage within the heavy-duty manufacturing facilities has been essentially achieved. According to the test results, the wind speed generated by the upgraded and modified stationary dust collector can reach 8–12 m/s. In contrast, the wind speed produced by the previously introduced mobile dust collectors is only 5–7 m/s. Meanwhile, the standard wind speed for ordinary welding fume purifiers is merely 4.5 m/s. Thus, the air extraction rate of our dust collection equipment far exceeds the standards set for welding fume purifiers, truly ensuring the good health of workers. Yuan Fanghua, a welding operator from the Second Engineering Division, explained on site that the newly installed fixed dust collectors have a high wind speed and strong suction power, resulting in excellent performance. Multiple suction pipes are connected using quick connectors, which facilitates their use at various work locations. Workers do not need to prepare separate dust collectors for their welding tasks; this not only reduces their workload but also improves their efficiency, thereby better protecting their health. We are very grateful to the company for its efforts to safeguard the health of its employees.
