At 8:30 on April 18, with the last batch of concrete poured into the formwork, the central control room for Donghua Technology’s Shanxi Meijin Huasheng 300,000-ton/year ethylene glycol and LNG co-production project (hereinafter referred to as the “Shanxi Meijin Huasheng project”) was completed as planned, marking a significant milestone in the progress of this project. The central control room is 58 meters long and 32 meters wide, covering an area of 1,984 square meters. Its building height is 9.6 meters. It is a cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame structure designed to resist explosions, and its formwork and support systems fall under the category of construction tasks that pose significant risks due to their scale. As the general contractor for this project, Donghua Technology implemented strict pre-control measures, supervised and guided the construction subcontractors in preparing specialized construction plans, and organized expert reviews as required; it also carried out thorough planning for technical preparations and safety safeguards. Throughout the construction of the entire concrete framework, Donghua Technology has always emphasized safety and quality control, continuously monitored the implementation of specific plans on site, and strengthened construction surveillance and safety inspections. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Donghua Technology Shanxi Meijin Huasheng project has managed to resume work and production in an orderly manner, while ensuring proper measures are taken for epidemic control. To date, 1,165 workers from the project’s general contractor and various subcontractors have completed the isolation period in accordance with local regulations and have returned to work; all production tasks related to the project have been launched. The installation of the project’s main units as well as auxiliary equipment is progressing rapidly. For the DMO synthesis unit, with a capacity of 100,000 tons per unit, the steel framework has been installed up to the 22.0-meter level, and the steel grating has also been delivered. The bottom plate of the LNG storage tank, with a volume of 20,000 cubic meters, has been installed, and work on installing the top plate has now begun.
