Progress on the Upgrade and Transformation Project of Shanxi Coking Company Author/Source: Huahua Net Coal Chemicals Date: 2021-07-13 Clicks: 75 Recently, an expert review meeting was held for the technical proposal comparison report and the feasibility study report regarding the upgrade and transformation project of Shanxi Coking Group Co., Ltd., which involves a production capacity of 1.44 million tons per year and coke ovens with a height of 7.0 meters. Experts in the coking industry, officials from Shanxi Coking Group, its joint-stock company, and Feihong Chemical, relevant officials from the Shanxi Coking Coal Coking Industry Development Bureau, as well as officials from the report preparation company, Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd., members of the technical committee of Shanxi Coking Group Company, and personnel from coking plants and chemical product recycling plants attended the meeting. The meeting heard a presentation by the project developer, Saiding Engineering Company, on the feasibility study report for Shanxi Coking’s 1.44-million-ton coking project. The experts present conducted a thorough discussion of the project’s technical proposal comparison report and the feasibility study report from the perspectives of policy, technology, environmental protection, investment, and economic benefits. The expert group agreed that the 1.44 million-ton coking project of Shanxi Coking is a large-scale coking initiative that aims to integrate coking production capacity by implementing a strategy of replacing smaller units with larger ones in the Hongtong Economic and Technological Development Zone (Zhaocheng Park). This project is in line with the layout of Shanxi’s coking industry as well as the policies aimed at transforming this industry; it also conforms to the industrial planning of the Hongtong Economic Development Zone and the strategic goals of Shanxi Coking Coal. It facilitates the comprehensive development of the coking industry in terms of park-based organization, chain integration, sustainability, and high-end development, enhances the technical and equipment standards of the coking industry, and contributes to local economic growth. The basic guidelines for report preparation are followed, reliable process technologies are selected, and credible parameters are used; upon further refinement, it can serve as a basis for carrying out subsequent work. On January 1, 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony for a coking project with a capacity of 1.44 million tons, aimed at producing carbon-based synthetic materials through the comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas by Shanxi Coking Group Co., Ltd., was held in Zhaocheng Industrial Park, Hongtong Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hongtong County, Linfen City. “The \"1.44 million tons per year coking project\" serves as a preliminary supporting project for the \"450,000 tons per year cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis carbon-based new materials project.\" With a total investment of 3.037 billion yuan, it involves the construction of 2×61-chamber, 7.0-meter-reheat type top-mounted YJL7050-1 type coke ovens, along with supporting coal preparation systems, coke transportation systems, facilities for chemical product recovery and gas purification, environmental protection facilities such as flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, and others auxiliary engineering projects. The coke oven gas will be used in the existing 350,000 tons per year methanol production facility that operates using coke oven gas.
