On May 29, Zhongan United succeeded in developing the new polypropylene product PPB-MP09 (SP179); all performance tests for this product were successful, adding another member to Zhongan United’s portfolio of polyolefin products. For this new product development, domestic catalysts were used for the first time; there were no established control methods available for reference, various parameter adjustments were required, and operating the equipment proved to be difficult. This posed a significant challenge for Zhongan United. To ensure the successful development of the product from the first attempt, Zhongan United overcame the impacts of the pandemic and actively engaged in in-depth discussions with Beihua Institute via video conferences, phone calls, and other means regarding relevant control parameters and quality control measures. At the same time, it organized technical staff to gather information on product specifications, catalyst selection, additive proportions, and key points for production control, in order to develop a detailed production plan. The operators were also trained on this plan so as to make full preparations for the development of the new product. During the trial production process, the technical staff kept a close eye on the control console, with the operators inside and outside working in perfect coordination to precisely adjust the relevant control parameters. After nearly twelve hours of hard work, a qualified new polypropylene product was finally produced. This product is medium-melting high-impact polypropylene, which boasts excellent impact resistance and thermal stability. It is widely used in industries such as home appliances and automotive parts, carries a high added value, and has broad market prospects. The successful development of this new product has enriched the portfolio of ZOUNION’s polypropylene products.
