Shaanxi Huahua Chemical Company has been granted another invention patent. Author/Source: Shaanxi Huahua Chemical. Date: 2021-08-24. Clicks: 34. Recently, the Patent Publication Bulletin on the website of the Intellectual Property Office announced that the “Device for recovering ammonia from medium and low pressure off-gas”, submitted by the Department of Science and Technology Development, has been granted a patent. The urea production at Shaanxi Chemical Industry Company relies on CO2 gas and liquid ammonia as raw materials. These materials are pressurized and then fed into a urea synthesis tower where they undergo reactions. The urea solution produced in this tower is further processed through processes such as medium-pressure decomposition, low-pressure decomposition, vacuum concentration, and granulation in tall towers to yield solid urea products. During the production process, when urea is decomposed and recovered at medium and low pressures, the heat generated by the urea itself causes some of the NH3 and CO2 in the liquid phase to be desorbed and released. The released NH3 and CO2 mix with other gases to form the medium and low pressure off-gases. “A process improvement proposal proposed for verification, namely a \"Device for recovering ammonia from medium and low pressure off-gases,\" effectively enhances the absorption of NH3 from such off-gases, prevents waste of NH3 raw materials, and reduces NH3 emissions into the atmosphere, thereby minimizing environmental pollution; it offers significant economic and environmental benefits.
