On March 16, a delegation of 6 people led by Sun Qingjun, General Manager of Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd./Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Co., Ltd., and Zhao Hui, Deputy Chief Engineer of Aerospace Engineering, visited the Jiehua Chemical Branch of Yunnan Jiehua Clean Energy Development Co., Ltd. for inspections and discussions, and held a symposium to exchange ideas. The two sides exchanged views on the relocation and upgrading of the facility for the production of 500,000 tons of synthetic ammonia as well as related downstream projects, and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation and achieve mutual benefit. Sun Qingjun hopes to discuss together the goals and approaches for implementing the project, and at the same time further explore how to accelerate its implementation. Zhao Hui briefed the representatives of the aerospace engineering company on the status of the review of the feasibility study report for the project related to the relocation, upgrading, and integration of the chemical processing facilities. The leaders and technical experts from both sides had in-depth discussions on various details outlined in the feasibility study report, including the design capacity of the production facilities, the investment required for coal storage and transportation infrastructure, product storage planning, as well as the expected goals of the project; preliminary suggestions for revisions were also reached. After the meeting, Sun Qingjun and his party visited the observation platform at the Buzhaoba open-pit mine of Yunnan Xiaolongtan Mining Bureau Co., Ltd., as well as Meitang Village in Zejiu Village Committee of Xiaolongtan Town, to gain a detailed understanding of the efforts to increase coal production capacity and the planning and construction of the Xiaolongtan green, low-carbon, high-tech chemical industry park. The relocation and upgrading of Yunnan Jiehua’s facilities to build a plant capable of producing 500,000 tons of synthetic ammonia along with related downstream products is planned for the Xiaolongtan Fine Chemicals Park in Kaiyuan City, Yunnan Province. The investment is expected to be around 20 billion yuan, with an annual coal consumption of about 7.5 million tons; the facility will cover an area of 250 hectares. The planned scale involves the optimization and upgrading of a 500,000-ton/year ammonia synthesis plant along with the related downstream product facilities; the transformation and upgrading of a 1.8 million-ton/year methanol plant; as well as the development of new carbon-based materials using methanol as a raw material. The main products and downstream products include: 1.8 million tons per year of methanol and related carbon-based new materials, 500,000 tons per year of liquid ammonia and related products such as nitric acid, *ao acid an, nitrofertilizers, urea, concentrated nitric acid, and calcium nitrate.
