Hong Sifang Establishes Green Intelligent Compound Fertilizer Research Institute Author/Source: Sinochem New Network Date: October 20, 2021 Clicks: 8 On October 14, the Signing and Inauguration Ceremony for the Green Intelligent Compound Fertilizer Research Institute, established through a partnership between the **Institute of Agricultural Green Development at China Agricultural University and Anhui Hong Sifang Fertilizer Co., Ltd., was held in Hefei, along with a strategic development seminar. The establishment of this research institute represents an exploratory effort by **-level agricultural research institutions, along with state-owned enterprises and central state-owned enterprises, to determine the direction for the green development of agriculture. It holds great significance for implementing the concept of green development, promoting the upgrading of the fertilizer industry, overcoming key technologies related to green development, developing green and intelligent compound fertilizers, creating new models for sustainable agricultural development, and advancing the **\"dual carbon\" strategy. Zhongyan Hongsifang Fertilizer Company will make full use of the research resources of Academician Zhang Fusuo’s team to establish a R&D platform that integrates industry and agriculture. It will develop new types of fertilizer products that are environmentally friendly, capable of intelligent release, and efficient in application. The company will also train highly skilled professionals in fertilizer research and development, create a new model of cooperation among government agencies, academic institutions, industries, and end-users, and widely promote the use of soil-testing-based fertilization methods. Additionally, it will actively explore technologies for controlling agricultural non-point source pollution in key areas such as Chaohu Lake. The two cooperating parties will use Zhongyan Hongsifang Fertilizer Company as the base entity to jointly establish R&D centers, form R&D teams, train R&D professionals together, develop green intelligent compound fertilizer products, create a new system for fertilizer R&D, production, sales, and service, and share the results of their R&D efforts. In this way, they will build an innovative platform for the research, development, manufacturing, promotion, and application of green intelligent compound fertilizers that serves as a model and a benchmark for the industry. Through cooperation, both parties work together to pursue collaborative innovation in areas such as research on key technologies for controlling nitrogen fertilizer losses and improving its efficiency in line with the \"dual carbon\" goals, research on the development and application of green intelligent compound fertilizers, and research on key technologies for preventing and controlling agricultural non-point source pollution in lake basins. A seminar on control strategies and research plans for non-point source pollution in the Chaohu Lake basin was held on the same day. The participants discussed ways to strengthen the control of agricultural non-point source pollution in the Chaohu Lake basin, to transform the approach to agricultural development, as well as the implementation of soil testing-based fertilization methods and comprehensive prevention and control techniques for agricultural non-point source pollution in that basin. Li Hengpeng, a researcher at the Institute of Lake Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducted an analysis under the topic “Detailed Analysis of Pollution Entering Chaohu Lake and Scientific Emission Reductions”. His findings indicate that pollution control in the Chaohu Lake basin is gradually shifting from end-of-pipe treatment to regulation at the production stage. This shift involves measures such as industrial structure adjustment, optimization of spatial layout, promotion of high-quality development, greening of agriculture, as well as precise and intelligent decision-making. Yuan Zengwei, a professor at Nanjing University, and Ye Xinxin, a professor at Anhui Agricultural University, presented analyses on topics such as \"Calculation and Control of Pollutant Loads in River Basins\" and \"Inheritance and Demonstration of Green Fertilization Techniques in the Chaohu River Basin\".
