Recently, the Olefins Center, in collaboration with the Intermediate Tank Area of Workshop 1, carried out preventive maintenance on the medium-pressure ethylene pump P-4801A. This measure ensured the stable operation of feedstock supply equipment and helped the company achieve its annual goals. The olefin center, together with the intermediate tank area in Workshop 1, serves as a link for transporting intermediate products, bearing the significant responsibility of delivering olefin products smoothly and safely to the polyolefin plants, thus playing a crucial role. Since the unit came online, the medium-pressure ethylene pump P-4801A has never been taken apart for maintenance. As oil leakage from the mechanical seal of this pump was observed recently, after consultation between the center, the production department, and the power equipment department, it was agreed to conduct a thorough inspection of the pump. The intermediate tank farm facility at the Olefins Center has made every effort to carry out the maintenance work on its pumps. In early December, the pumps were isolated, depressurized, purged with nitrogen, and fitted with blind flanges. Thanks to strict supervision by management personnel, constant monitoring by safety officers, and the tireless efforts of on-site workers and chemical construction personnel, this pump maintenance task was successfully completed after one week, and the pumps have since been put back into service. This preventive maintenance of the pumps not only eliminated potential malfunctions, but also enabled new workers to acquire relevant knowledge about the pumps during the repair process. Through this preventive maintenance, we aim to **reduce the failure rate of pumps and machinery, ensure their long-term operation, provide a reliable supply of materials to downstream facilities, and make every effort to achieve the targets set in the labor competition**.
