This project uses the methanol product from CarbonXin Technology’s existing comprehensive utilization project for coke oven gas as raw material; it is combined with a powder gasification unit to produce syngas, from which CO and H2 are separated. Through carbonylation and hydrogenation reactions, an ethanol production capacity of 600,000 tons per year is achieved. The implementation of this project is a crucial step in expanding CarbonXin Technology’s chemical industry chain, and it holds great significance for the high-quality development of CarbonXin Technology. Anhui Carbonxin Technology Co., Ltd. is one of the key enterprises in Anhui (Huaibei) New Coal Chemical Industry Base. The projects for producing 500,000 tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of ethanol involve large-scale investments, advanced technological processes, and strong industrial implications. They represent crucial projects for Huaibei Mining Group in expanding its coal chemical industry chain and developing the fine chemical sector. These projects are of great significance for Huaibei City in improving its infrastructure for basic industries and in establishing high-quality clusters for advanced polymer materials and fine chemicals. The total investment for the project of comprehensively utilizing 500,000 tons per year of coke oven gas to produce methanol is 2 billion yuan. Using coal as the raw material, this project makes use of the hydrogen-rich off-gases from the two existing methanol production units at Linhuan Coking Co., Ltd., each with a capacity of 400,000 tons per year; carbon is supplemented through gasification technology, with an intended annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of methanol. The 600,000 t/a ethanol plant has a total investment of 3.395 billion yuan. It utilizes the DMTE technology developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and uses methanol from existing methanol production projects as raw material. A powder gasification unit is employed to generate syngas, from which carbon monoxide and hydrogen are separated. Through processes such as methanol dehydration, dimethyl ether carbonylation, and methyl acetate hydrogenation followed by separation, 600,000 tons of ethanol are produced annually. Once completed, it will become the world’s largest ethanol facility.
