Dushanzi Petrochemical’s Boiler Sets New Record for Long-Term Operation Author/Source: Dushanzi Online Date: February 10, 2022 Clicks: 16 At 12:00 on February 8th, Boiler No. 3 at Dushanzi Petrochemical’s thermal power plant was shut down as scheduled. To date, this boiler has been operating safely and steadily for 586 days, setting another record for the longest period of operation under conditions of mixed coal and coke combustion among boilers of this type in the industry. This achievement represents an advanced level for circulating fluidized bed boilers both in China and abroad. The shutdown this time is primarily aimed at inspecting the anti-wear coatings applied to the water wall on the front wall, as well as those applied to the water walls on the left and right sides via laser welding. By measuring the thickness, hardness, and degree of macroscopic wear of these anti-wear coatings, a technical assessment is carried out to evaluate their effectiveness in preventing wear, thereby determining appropriate plans for the long-term operation and special maintenance of other boilers. At the same time, a comparison was made of the wear on the boiler’s water wall, screen superheater, water-cooled evaporation screens, and lining materials resulting from the use of different coal types. Additionally, checks were carried out for coking inside the furnace, ash accumulation in the rear flue ducts, and blockages caused by ash, in order to determine the extent to which the quality of the coal used affects the boiler equipment. Based on the inspection results, the coal blending plan was formulated and improved, ultimately enabling Boiler No. 6 to achieve continuous safe and stable operation for periods of 18 to 20 months each time. In recent years, the Power Generation Operation Department of Dushanzi Petrochemical Company has continued to innovate in areas such as strengthening equipment management and optimizing equipment operation, repeatedly setting new records for long-term operation. The leaders, technicians, and key technical staff in the Power Generation Operations Department carefully analyze the operating conditions, parameters, and bottlenecks associated with boiler operation. They enhance the use of information technology by establishing large databases to enable real-time monitoring of boiler parameters. Any abnormal parameters are analyzed and adjusted promptly, and inspection processes are optimized as a result. This reduces the frequency of maintenance tasks, shortens downtime, saves on maintenance costs, and **improves work efficiency and quality**.
