It is reported that the PC project for the main plant of Yueneng Chemical Company’s ethylene glycol project is divided into three bid sections: A, B, and C. Among them, the general contractor for Section A is China Chemical Engineering 10th Construction Co., Ltd.; the scope of work includes the procurement of air separation units, gasification units, purification units, the entire plant’s external pipe networks, the control room, as well as fire protection systems for the whole plant, along with the related construction work ； The general contractor for Section B of the construction is Northwest Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Co., Ltd.; the scope of work includes the procurement of thermal power plants as well as the construction works ； The general contractor for Section C of the construction is Shaanxi Construction Engineering Installation Group Co., Ltd. The scope of work includes the procurement of the ethylene glycol plant, tank farms, and other utility systems, as well as the construction work associated with them. The project is scheduled to begin full construction on March 1, 2021 ； June 15, 2021: The foundation of the main unit reached zero meter level ； All installations were completed on June 15, 2022 ； Qualified products were produced on December 15, 2022; the total project duration was 21.5 months, and the total investment in the project remained within 5.8 billion yuan. The first phase of the project to produce 400,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol as part of Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group Co., Ltd.’s 1.2 million tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol production capacity, is a project that marks the commencement of operations at the coal-based clean fuel base and high-end chemical materials base located in the Qingshui Industrial Park of the Yushen Industrial Zone. The total planned land area for this project is 1,711 mu, with an estimated investment of 6.243 billion yuan; the amount allocated to environmental protection measures is 532.6274 million yuan. The plant utilizes production processes such as coal-based syngas production; carbon monoxide and hydrogen are used to indirectly synthesize ethylene glycol through carbonylation, coupling, and hydrogenation, with by-products including dimethyl carbonate, crude ethanol, mixed alcohols, sulfur, liquid oxygen, and liquid nitrogen. The main facilities include those for coal-based syngas production, purification and separation, ethylene glycol synthesis, boiler power generation, air separation units, as well as various supporting utility systems. The project construction includes a gasification unit, a purification unit, an H2/CO separation unit, an ethylene glycol unit, etc. The utility systems and supporting auxiliary facilities include: 3×350t/h high-temperature and high-pressure circulating fluidized bed boilers + 2×30MW back-pressure steam turbine generator sets, air separation units, circulating water stations, desalination stations, storage and transportation facilities, sewage treatment plants, etc. The gasification unit employs the Collin powder coal gasification technology and includes 2 powder coal gasifiers ； The ethylene glycol plant utilizes the Sino-FOE ethylene glycol technology.
