At the beginning of the new year, good news came from Xinjiang Xinye Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xinye Energy): in 2021, the company produced 506,900 tons of methanol, 191,000 tons of LNG (liquefied natural gas), and 53,000 tons of BDO (1,4-butanediol). Its profits rose by 483.13% compared to the previous year, marking the best performance in the company’s history in terms of production and operations. As a model of integration between the military and civilian sectors, as well as a leading enterprise in modern coal chemical processing, Xinye Energy adheres to the path of developing a circular economy, achieving efficient use of resources through technological innovation. In 2021, the industrial wastewater generated during production at Xinye Energy was fully recycled after undergoing advanced treatment, while the industrial waste residues were utilized as building materials following technical advancements. “The fuel gas compression and recovery technology upgrade project we are currently implementing involves compressing and recovering the exhaust gas that was previously used as fuel gas, to use it as a raw material for synthesizing methanol and for producing liquefied natural gas, thereby achieving the recycling of carbon- and hydrogen-containing resources. ”Wang Yanxin, deputy director of the Xinye Energy Technology Center, said. At present, Xinye Energy has initially established a circular economy industrial chain that combines coal chemical industry, clean energy, special fuels, fine chemicals, and carbon dioxide emission reduction. It holds seven core technologies, including coal pulverization pressurized gasification technology and patented methanol synthesis processes. To enhance the conversion of scientific research achievements into practical applications, Xinye Energy has invested a total of 1.396 billion yuan in technological upgrades and scientific research. It has established a branch laboratory of the Autonomous Region’s Key Laboratory for Clean Coal Conversion and Chemical Processes in Xinjiang, as well as an autonomous region-level enterprise technology center. The company has also been recognized as a **High-Tech Enterprise**.
