Yan’an Energy Chemical Thermal and Power Center: Ammonia recovery project meets operational standards Author/Source: Yanchang Petroleum Yan’an Energy Chemical Date: 2022-03-19 Clicks: 16 On March 16, departments such as the Technology and Quality Management Department, Production Planning Department, and Equipment Management Department of Yan’an Energy Chemical jointly conducted an inspection and acceptance of the ammonia delivery system as part of the technical renovation project at the thermal and power center. The inspection team unanimously agreed that the construction of this project was completed well and met the operational standards. The ammonia recovery project is a technical improvement initiative launched by the company last year, aimed at tapping into the company’s internal potential and reducing external procurement costs in order to achieve self-production for own use. The system uses liquid ammonia to be heated and evaporated into gaseous ammonia, which is then transported to the ammonia water preparation area to produce a certain amount of deionized water, thereby creating an ammonia water solution of a specific concentration. Finally, this solution is sent to various production centers via diaphragm transfer pumps. Once the project is put into operation, it will meet the ammonia demand for the daily production of the company’s various facilities, and it is expected to save over 1 million yuan in costs related to the purchase of ammonia each year. It is reported that since the construction materials arrived in November last year, the Thermal and Power Center promptly allocated the necessary pipeline components, and actively coordinated with the design firms and equipment manufacturers. The location for construction was determined based on the net positive suction head required by the water pumps. Work was carried out step by step, covering tasks such as pipeline installation, foundation preparation, equipment setup, instrument wiring, and screen configuration. Despite challenges such as a shortage of labor and materials during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Spring Festival holiday, the planned tasks were successfully completed. “Next, the center will, in accordance with the company’s unified scheduling plans, deliver qualified ammonia water to the gasification and purification as well as natural gas conversion and synthesis centers as soon as possible, thereby making its contribution to the company’s efforts to save energy, reduce consumption, and improve efficiency. said Li Xiaobo, the professional supervisor at the center.
