Agreement Reached for Shengkai Coking’s 1.3 million-ton Coking Transformation and Upgrading Project Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemicals Date: July 19, 2020 Clicks: 190 On July 14, the People’s Government of Qilin District in Qujing City, Yunnan Province, held a signing ceremony with Xuzhou Longshan Coking Co., Ltd. and Qujing Shengkai Coking Co., Ltd., to reach an agreement regarding Shengkai Coking’s 1.3 million-ton coking transformation and upgrading project. Zheng Wenguang, chairman of Xuzhou Longshan Coking Co., Ltd., and Cheng Changwei, chairman of Qujing Shengkai Coking Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony. Zhu Kairong, deputy secretary of the district party committee and district head, represented the local people to jointly sign an investment promotion cooperation agreement with Xuzhou Longshan Coking Co., Ltd. and Qujing Shengkai Coking Co., Ltd. The 1.3 million-ton coking transformation and upgrading project of Shengkai Coking is a capacity replacement project aimed at the transformation and upgrading of the coking industry in Qujing City. With a total investment of 3 billion yuan, it will be carried out in two phases over a period of two years, and the project will result in the construction of a production line featuring 1.3 million tons of rammed coke ovens. The Qujing Coal Chemical Industry Park is located in Zhanyi District, Qujing City. In 2014, it was included in the fifth batch of \"New Industrialization Industry Demonstration Bases\" listed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Qujing Coal Chemical Industry Park is a key industrial park at the provincial level in Yunnan Province, as well as a park focused on high-tech and specialty industries in the same province. It represents a key development area for the new coal chemical industry in both Yunnan Province and Qujing City, and it includes the Huashan Coal Chemical Zone, the Baishui Metallurgy and Energy Zone, the Chengxi Light Industry Zone, and the Tianshengqiao Logistics Zone. Building on Qujing’s annual coal production of around 45 million tons, the industrial park has seen the construction of a Guotou thermal power plant with a capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, as well as a coal coking facility capable of producing 4.2 million tons of coal tar (300,000 tons of which is obtained through coking) and 300,000 tons of methanol via coke oven gas. In addition, an aluminum electrolysis plant with a capacity of 380,000 tons per year and a steel production facility with a capacity of 2 million tons per year have been put into operation.
