In the early hours of March 24, 2022, the gasifier intended for the upgrading and expansion project of the gasification unit at the 600,000-ton/year ammonia and 1.04-million-ton/year urea production facility operated by Ordos Yiding Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd.—which utilizes Collin’s CCG pulverized coal gasification technology—arrived at the Ordos project site, where it is now awaiting installation. Yiding Company’s second-phase plan involves the construction of a gasification unit with a daily coal feeding capacity of 2,000 tons, along with associated facilities. The project is overseen by Shanghai Huanyu as the general contractor, and the gasification technology used is Collin CCG powder coal gasification technology. The project is carried out in cooperation with Kunlun Bank, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation. It adopts the EPC+F business model, providing clients with comprehensive services covering financing, engineering technology, and construction. This project uses a Collin 2,000-ton gasifier, with a net weight of 278 tons, a diameter of 3.5 meters, and a length of 22.6 meters; it was manufactured by Dongfang Electric Group Dongfang Boiler Co., Ltd., a manufacturer certified by Collin. The successful arrival of the gasifier at the site marks the completion of an important milestone in the retrofitting project for the gasification unit of the Yiding project in Ordos City. Yiding Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Elion Energy (600277), which in turn is part of the Elion Resources Group. Located in the Duguitala Industrial Park in Hangjin Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, Yiding has been striving in recent years to establish a fertilizer production base, a research and development center for new types of fertilizers, and an operation center for high-end ecological agricultural products. At present, Yiding Company’s fertilizer production project was initiated in May 2011, was completed in December 2014, and began producing qualified products in February 2015. The facilities that are now in operation include ones for producing 600,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia, 1.04 million tons per year of urea, 300,000 tons per year of compound fertilizers, and 50,000 tons per year of organic fertilizers. The main products include urea, organic fertilizers, compound fertilizers, ammonium sulfate, sulfur, urea-ammonium nitrogen fertilizers, compound microbial fertilizers, slow- and controlled-release fertilizers, biochar-based fertilizers, etc. Reportedly, on March 10 earlier this year, Shanghai Universal Engineering Co., Ltd. and Collin Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the process package of the coal gasification project of Inner Mongolia Yili Group Ordos Yiding Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. in Shanghai. Shanghai Huanguo took on the general contracting role for the design, procurement, and construction of the gasification unit for the first time. It is reported that Yiding Company’s project for filling in gaps and making improvements utilizes the patented CCG powder gasification technology; the gasifier used in this system features a top-mounted multi-nozzle (3+1) design, with a carbon conversion rate of 98%–99%, a cold gas efficiency of 81%–83%, and an effective gas content in the syngas of 88%–93%.
