Friends, different types of flare gas in the project are sent to separate flares, and a separate destination is designated for the flare gas used during maintenance. Why must flare gas be handled separately during maintenance, and not sent to the various types of flares such as those for acidic gases or hydrocarbons?
I understand your concern; indeed, setting up a separate torch for maintenance requires additional investment. From the perspective of process safety, two main points need to be considered: 1) The flare system may be in an abnormal operating condition during maintenance, and mixing gases of different properties could pose a risk of reaction ； 2) Special torches for acidic gases and similar substances usually have specific treatment requirements; if maintenance gases mix in, it may affect the effectiveness of subsequent treatments.
