At 4:10 on April 11, Boiler No. 3 at Binzhou Company was ignited successfully as planned, on the first attempt. To date, all 3 circulating fluidized bed boilers in Binzhou Company’s ethylene glycol project team have passed the acceptance tests, reaching the planned configuration of \"two in operation and one in standby,\" which lays a foundation for further improving the company’s economic efficiency and safety performance. To ensure a safe and environmentally friendly ignition of the boiler units as well as a successful completion of the acceptance process, the Water and Steam Plant drew on new experiences and methods based on its previous experience with igniting Boilers #1 and #2. Focusing on two key aspects – environmental standards and the amount of gas required for ignition – it conducted thorough discussions and made detailed plans regarding personnel allocation, timing, and the steps involved in carrying out the ignition process. Ensure that the ignition process for Boiler No. 3 is well-organized and systematic. Zhang Huanxin, the process director, keeps emphasizing that safety and environmental protection must be given top priority. At 4 a.m. on the 11th, in the control room of the thermal power plant, leaders and technical staff from departments such as Binzhou Company’s Production Department, Water and Steam Plant, Control and Instrumentation Department, and Maintenance Division gathered together to witness the crucial moment when the boiler was ignited. After confirmation of startup via the three-stage system, the induced draft fan, fluidization fan, primary fan, and secondary fan of Boiler No. 3 were started sequentially and operated normally, with the boiler operator adjusting the fan dampers properly. At the command of Zhang Huaxin, the deputy director of the water turbine workshop, and under the supervision of the process technicians on site, the boiler operator pressed the ignition button. Accompanied by the ‘pop-pop-pop’ sound of the high-frequency ignition device, fierce flames immediately erupted in the main combustion chamber, and the 3# boiler was successfully ignited on the first attempt. The successful first ignition of Boiler No. 3 marks the official entry of Binzhou Company’s thermal power plant into a normal operating mode with two boilers in use and one as backup. Boiler No. 1, which has been in operation for 2,184 hours, will enter maintenance mode ahead of schedule as planned.
