Author/Source: Energy & Chemical Industry News Date: May 27, 2022 Clicks: 1 Recently, an expert review meeting was successfully held regarding the framework of the carbonylation reactor and the methyl acetate reactor for the ethanol production unit in Anhui Carbonxin Technology Co., Ltd.’s methanol comprehensive utilization project, which was EPC-general contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd.; the review was successful, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent construction of the concrete structures. It is reported that the construction of the concrete structures for the carbonylation reactor frame and the methyl acetate reactor frame constitutes the critical path in the civil engineering phase of this project. Moreover, the upper concrete structures involve concrete formwork support work with a high level of risk, requiring expert evaluation. Thanks to the careful preparation by the project team, it took only 20 days to complete the research on materials for the support system, the formulation of a specialized plan for high-support formwork, and internal reviews, thereby creating favorable conditions for the successful holding of the expert review meeting. Subsequently, the project department will carry out the installation of high-support formwork scaffolding on a full scale to ensure the timely and smooth progress of the upper concrete structure. The ethanol production facility with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons requires a total investment of 3.395 billion yuan. It utilizes the DMTE technology developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; the methanol used as raw material comes from Anhui Carbonxin’s existing methanol production plant. A powder gasification unit is employed to generate syngas, from which CO and H2 are separated. Through processes such as methanol dehydration, dimethyl ether carbonylation, and methyl acetate hydrogenation followed by separation, 600,000 tons of ethanol are produced annually ； The intermediate handover time for the facility is tentatively set at 22 months. Upon completion, it will become the world’s largest ethanol facility. Winner of the general contract for the methanol comprehensive utilization project of Anhui Carbonxin Technology Co., Ltd. The ethanol production unit of Anhui Carbonxin Technology Co., Ltd.’s methanol comprehensive utilization project was EPC-general contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. Anhui Carbonxin Technology Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huaibei Mining Group, and the aforementioned project is located in the Linhuan Industrial Park, Hancun Town, Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province.
