Since the underground pipelines of Jinfeng Coal Chemical’s fire protection water system were put into use in 2005, some of them have started to leak due to corrosion and erosion; as a result, an overall upgrade and renovation of this fire protection water system became necessary. Recently, the company completed the upgrade and renovation of the underground pipeline network in the Jienan area for urea production, marking the overall improvement and modernization of the company’s fire protection pipeline network. It is understood that through the replacement of certain pipelines and stop valves, this construction project optimizes the layout of the fire protection water pipes surrounding the urea plant; meanwhile, polyurethane seamless steel pipes are used for the fire protection water pipes in the boundary area, thereby resolving issues such as freezing and blockages during winter. As part of this project, over 270 meters of underground pipelines were updated, along with more than 200 meters of above-ground fire hoses. Four new above-ground fire hydrants were installed to provide effective coverage of the AB urea area. For this renovation, the company actively worked with the construction party, overcame the impacts of the pandemic, and strictly followed the local pandemic control regulations to arrange for construction workers to enter the site to carry out the work. Through rigorous and thorough technical reviews, the company’s technical staff, together with the supervisors from Guokong Huanqiu Shanghai Electric Company, monitored every stage of the work, including delivery inspection, trench excavation, pipeline anti-corrosion treatment, welding, pressure testing of pipelines, backfilling of trenches, surface hardening, and system trial operation. The construction process adhered strictly to the required management procedures related to work permits; blue iron fences were installed at the construction site to enclose the area, the soil was fully covered, and there was dedicated personnel on site to oversee everything, ensuring strict process control and thus maintaining the quality of the project. The renewal and upgrading of the fire protection water network **has enhanced the company’s capacity to respond to fire emergencies, providing more efficient and comprehensive fire protection support for the safe and stable operation of the facilities.
