The construction details following the significant changes in Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project related to amide and nylon new materials include: a 400,000-ton/year caprolactam production facility; this facility includes a 1 million-ton/year sulfuric acid plant, a 560,000-ton/year hydrogen peroxide (50%) plant (with Phase 1 covering 400,000 tons/year and Phase 2 covering 160,000 tons/year), a sulfur ammonium sulfate production plant designed to support the caprolactam production, as well as two sets of equipment for the extrusion granulation of sulfur ammonium sulfate, each with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year ; 400,000-ton/year spinning project for new differentiated polyamide materials: It includes a 400,000-ton/year polymerization unit (Phase I capacity: 333,000 tons/year) and a 200,000-ton/year nylon-6 spinning line (Phase I capacity: 60,000 tons/year) ; 200,000 tons/year nylon 66 project: including a 480,000 tons/year cyclohexanol plant (Phase 2: 320,000 tons/year), a 465,000 tons/year ** plant (Phase 2: 135,000 tons/year), as well as plants for producing 240,000 tons/year adipic acid, 100,000 tons/year adiponitrile, 100,000 tons/year hexamethylenediamine, and 200,000 tons/year nylon 66. Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. was formerly known as Zhijiang County Fertilizer Factory, and was established in 1969. In 1993, it was pilot-converted into a state-held joint-stock company; in 2001, through the “two replacements” reform, it became a privately owned enterprise. In 2007, it was under relative control by the state-owned super-large enterprise Shanxi Jinmei Group. Over the past decade, Sanning Company has proactively implemented the strategy for the comprehensive protection of the Yangtze River. Grounded in the chemical industry and committed to its core business, it has diversifiedly expanded its coal chemical product chain, promoted the refinement of the phosphate chemical industry through various means, and diversifiedly extended its new materials and new energy industrial chains. At the same time, it has strengthened the integration and mutual development of these three main industrial chains, striving to become a model for circular economic development in China’s chemical industry—one that integrates fertilizer production with mining and materials processing. The amide and nylon new materials project is another project worth tens of billions of yuan for Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd., as it represents the company’s transition from traditional chemical manufacturing to the production of new chemical materials, following the successful completion of the pilot production phase for 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol. The adjustment of the raw material structure for ammonia production at Sanning, along with the project to produce 600,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol, is based on the 520,000 tons per year ammonia production capacity of Sanning’s urea plant and Tiantian Company’s plants. Without increasing this capacity, the urea production facilities that use bituminous coal as raw material and rely on atmospheric-pressure batch fixed-bed gasifiers, atmospheric-pressure desulfurization processes, and high-pressure ammonia synthesis, as well as the downstream urea and ammonium bicarbonate production units, will be phased out. The total investment for the project is 10 billion yuan; it involves the construction of a new facility that uses high-quality Shenhua coal as raw material to produce 400,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol and 520,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia ; Using sulfur as raw material, 800,000 tons per year of industrial-grade sulfuric acid is produced.
