Project Overview: The project is located in the Jiaocheng Economic Development Zone of Jiaocheng County, Lüliang City, Shanxi Province. It features production lines capable of manufacturing 6 million tons of coke per year, 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol, 160,000 tons of LNG, 150,000 tons of carbon black, 80 million cubic meters of hydrogen, 80,000 tons of crude benzene, 80,000 tons of tar-based products, and 100,000 tons of modified asphalt. Phase 1 of the project involves constructing a coke production facility with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, along with associated chemical recovery systems; the excess coke oven gas generated by this facility is used in conjunction with the waste gases from metal production projects to manufacture 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol and 160,000 tons of LNG per year. The tar produced as a by-product of coke production is used to produce 400,000 tons of tar-based products and 150,000 tons of carbon black. Phase 2 also includes a coke production facility with an annual capacity of 3 million tons and associated chemical recovery systems; the excess coke oven gas from this facility is used to produce 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, while 80 million cubic meters of hydrogen are generated as a by-product. The project also includes systems for burning, oxidizing, filtering, and adsorbing waste gases, as well as water treatment systems to ensure zero emissions. The total investment for the project is 16 billion yuan. 2 ★ Pingyao Coal Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. of Shanxi Province – 6.25-meter rammed coke furnace upgrading project. This project is located within the Pingyao Coal Chemical Industry Park on Nanwai Ring Road, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. It was invested and constructed by Pingyao Coal Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. of Shanxi Province. The main components of the project include the construction of 2×62-chamber 6.25-meter rammed coke furnaces; these furnaces feature a structure with regenerative chambers, downward injection of coke oven gas, staged supply of air, and a dual-flue exhaust gas recycling system. The annual production includes 1.34 million tons of coke, 81,809 tons of tar, 14,944 tons of ammonium sulfate, 20,222 tons of crude benzene, 19,575 tons of concentrated sulfuric acid, 172 million kWh of electricity generated from dry quenching of coke, and 234,300 tons of low-pressure steam as a by-product. The total investment for the project is 2,322,479,000 yuan. 3 ★ Shanxi Hongyuan New Energy’s 1.2 million tons per year coking project with carbonization chamber heights of 6.25 meters and upgraded ramming coking technology – This project is located in Xia Baofeng Village, Beiping Town, Guxian County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, in the Renma Xi Gou area. It was invested in and constructed by Shanxi Hongyuan New Energy Co., Ltd.; the coking capacity of this project comes from the capacity of 1.2 million tons that was transferred from Shanxi Jianshengyuan New Energy Co., Ltd. to Shanxi Hongyuan New Energy Co., Ltd. The main construction involves a JL6253D type ramming coke oven with a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, a coke chamber height of 6.25 meters, and 2x54 tuyeres; this is accompanied by supporting facilities such as coal preparation equipment, a dry quenching system with a capacity of 170 tons per hour, chemical product recovery systems, as well as exhaust gas desulfurization and denitrification systems and advanced wastewater treatment and reuse systems for environmental protection purposes. Coke oven gas is used in methanol production projects. The project investment amount is 1,587,725,600 yuan. 4 ★ Xiangyuan Hengxiang Coking Co., Ltd.’s 1.54 million tons per year TJL6353D type solid-state coke production project. This project is located in Xiangyuan County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province. It was funded by Xiangyuan Hengxiang Coking Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shanxi Xiangkuang Group Co., Ltd.; the project involves the construction of 2×63 chambers of TJL6353D type coke ovens, a coal preparation system, chemical processing facilities, as well as supporting LNG infrastructure. The total investment for the project is 1,760,191,900 yuan. 5 ★ Shanxi Jinyan Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s Phase II project: a coking facility with an annual production capacity of 2.53 million tons and a height of 7.1 meters. This project makes use of existing production capacity as well as capacity acquired through paid exchanges, in order to build this Phase II coking facility with the aforementioned specifications. The Jinyan 5 million tons coking circular economy park project is being constructed in two phases; phase one has been largely completed. Phase two of the project includes a 2.53 million tons top-loading coking facility that uses 7.1-meter reheat type top-loading coke ovens. Additional facilities such as dry quenching systems, waste heat recovery units for dry quenching, gas purification systems, and chemical product recovery units are also part of this phase. Moreover, there is a project to produce 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol along with 300,000 tons of LNG, thereby enabling the integration of high-tech technologies with traditional industries. 6 ★Shanxi Jinyan Hydrogen-rich Energy Co., Ltd.’s 5 million tons per year project for the comprehensive utilization of coking furnace gas. This project is located in the Economic Development Zone of Xiaoyi City, and is surrounded by provincial roads S223 and S321 sowie the Jiexi line of the Tongpu Railway. The site offers favorable conditions and convenient transportation access. The total investment for the project is 741.9656 million US dollars, with all funds to be raised by the company itself. This project mainly involves the construction of an LNG production facility using coke oven gas (including coke oven gas pretreatment, low-temperature separation of methane for LNG production), gasification, syngas purification (involving units such as shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, liquid nitrogen washing, and sulfur recovery), ammonia and urea synthesis, as well as related supporting utility systems, auxiliary equipment, and off-site facilities. Xiang uses coke oven gas and raw coal as feedstocks to build facilities with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of LNG, 800,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 1.4 million tons of urea. 7 ★Shanxi Fuma Carbon Materials Technology Co., Ltd.’s 300,000 tons per year anhydrous tar processing project: In 2018, a chemical and energy company and Shanxi Jinghua Carbon Co., Ltd. jointly established Shanxi Fuma Carbon Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in Jieyou City, Shanxi. The first phase of this project involved the construction of a facility for processing 300,000 tons per year of tar, as well as a facility for producing 40,000 tons per year of needle coke, along with various supporting facilities. The total investment in the project is approximately 900 million yuan, with the Chemical Energy Company holding a 51% stake. The project construction period is 18 months. 8 ★Jinmao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., Shanxi Dongyi Coal, Electricity and Aluminum Group – 1.8 million tons per year capacity coking project with carbonization chambers 6.55 meters in height. Construction period: June 2019–June 2020. Main equipment: extraction equipment, water treatment equipment, automation equipment, reaction vessels, multi-stage membrane absorbers, drum filters, injectors, ball mills, leaching equipment, roasting kilns, evaporators, centrifugal pumps, pipeline pumps, and magnetic pumps. Project Overview: The project is located in the Economic Development Zone of Xiaoyi City, Lüliang City, Shanxi Province. It is an industrial development project with a total construction area of 4,448 square meters, including production workshops and auxiliary facilities. The total investment for the project is 80 million yuan. 9 ★Dry quenching project for coke ovens at Shanxi Coking – Shanxi Coking currently has 6 coke ovens, with an annual production capacity of 3.6 million tons of coke. In 2012, the dry quenching project for furnaces No. 5 and No. 6, along with the waste heat power generation facility, were completed and put into operation, yielding significant economic and social benefits. In recent years, Shanxi Coking has continuously installed full dry quenching systems for 6 coke ovens. On March 27, 2017, the company launched the project for dry quenching of coke for coke ovens No. 1–4 on a full scale. This project is divided into two phases; in the first phase, dry quenching systems are installed for coke ovens No. 3 and No. 4. The main components include the dry quenching units themselves, waste heat power generation systems, as well as auxiliary facilities such as dust removal and circulating water systems. Since the project commenced on March 25, 2017, all participating units have worked together to strive for high quality, with each phase progressing steadily as planned. On December 14, 2018, warm air drying was carried out in the dry quenching furnace, and on December 25, gas was used to ignite the furnace for heating, thereby creating the conditions necessary for the trial production of the dry quenching coke system. At present, the dry quenching projects for Cokes Ovens No. 1 and No. 2, which are part of Phase II of the project related to Cokes Ovens No. 1–4, are under intense construction; once completed, all 6 cokes ovens of the company will be equipped with dry quenching systems. 10 ★Phase I of Shanxi Tongzhou’s 2.15 million tons/year coking project: Tongzhou Group Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 2.15 million tons per year using 6.25-meter diameter ramming coke ovens is one of the key projects under Qinyuan County’s 2019 initiative to advance industrial transformation. The total investment in this project amounts to 3.65 billion yuan, and it includes the main coke oven facilities, supporting coal preparation systems, dry quenching equipment, chemical product recovery systems, as well as environmental protection facilities. The first phase of the project involves the construction of 2 coke ovens with 56 carbonization chambers each, a height of 6.25 meters, and an annual production capacity of 1.15 million tons of compacted coke. The second phase focuses on building 2 coke ovens with 50 carbonization chambers each, also with a height of 6.25 meters, and an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of compacted coke. At the same time, a dry quenching system will be installed, along with systems for coal preparation, dry quenching of coke, recovery of chemical products, environmental protection facilities, and various auxiliary facilities. Additionally, 2 coal washing plants with a capacity of 2.4 million tons each, 2 dry quenching systems for waste heat recovery with a capacity of 15 MW each, and a project for converting coke oven gas into LNG while producing 100,000 tons of ammonia per year will be constructed. 11 ★ Xiangyuan Hongda Coal Chemical’s 2.54 million-ton clean coking and LNG new energy project: This project is one of the key transformation projects in Xiangyuan County for the year 2020. It is also part of the twelve coking complexes with a production capacity of over 5 million tons each, which are planned to be developed in Shanxi Province as part of the industry’s transformation and upgrading efforts. The total investment for this project is 4.7 billion yuan, with an annual investment plan of 1 billion yuan. It covers an area of 1,659 mu, and the construction scale includes 2.54 million tons of metallurgical coke, 200,000 tons of LNG, 2*25MW generator sets, as well as a railway loading station capable of handling 10 million tons of cargo. The project is expected to complete all works for Phase 1 by the end of 2020, with full completion by the end of 2021. 12 ★Shanxi Jinmao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 1.8 million tons per year coking project: The scope of this project, carried out by Shanxi Dongyi Coal, Electricity and Aluminum Group’s Jinmao Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., includes 2 sets of 68-chamber coke ovens with a capacity of 6.55 meters each, along with the associated facilities. 13 ★ The 1.2 million tons per year coking project at Jun’an Building East, Hengfeng Industry in Lüliang, Shanxi. The 1.2 million tons capacity new coal chemical circular economy deep processing project being developed by Shanxi Jun’an Building East Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is an important part of the tens of millions of tons capacity new industrial base in Xiaoyi Economic Development Zone; it is also a key project in Shanxi Province. This project introduces advanced international technologies, utilizing 6.25-meter ramming coke ovens to significantly reduce energy consumption during production and improve energy-saving efficiency. The project includes a supporting facility for the deep processing of LNG with an annual production capacity of 76,000 tons, along with 24,000 tons of liquid ammonia and coke oven gas, thereby extending the industrial chain toward advanced coal chemical manufacturing. At the same time, it is equipped with a 1×160 tons/hour dry quenching system, a 1×80 tons/hour waste heat power generation unit for dry quenching, as well as facilities for chemical product recovery, thus forming a development path that starts with coal, is determined by coking processes, and ends with chemical production. 14 ★ Shanxi Xinxin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s Fine Chemicals and New Materials Recycling Project: This project involves the production of 300,000 tons per year of methanol from coke oven gas, with ammonia being produced as a by-product. It is located in the Fine Chemicals Park in Qingxu County, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. The project will enable the production of 300,000 tons per year of methanol and 68,000 tons per year of ammonia; in later stages, new material projects such as DMMn will also be developed, thereby extending the utilization of coke oven gas along the downstream industrial chain. This project utilizes coke oven gas, a by-product of upstream coking processes, to produce methanol along with ammonia; it serves as a key link in Shanxi Axin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s fine chemicals and new materials recycling initiatives, and will provide raw materials for the development of fine chemicals in downstream applications. The total value of the general contract for this project is 806 million yuan, with a construction period of 16 months. The project covers an area of approximately 200 mu, and upon completion, it is expected to generate an annual after-tax profit of around 102 million yuan. 15 ★Shanxi Meijin Huasheng 300,000 tons/year ethylene glycol and LNG co-production project. This project is implemented in two phases: in the first phase, a facility with an annual capacity of 3 million tons for coking and related chemical product recovery is built; the excess coke oven gas from the coking unit is combined with the silicon-manganese exhaust gas from metal materials production projects to produce 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol and 160,000 tons of LNG per year. The tar produced as a by-product of the coking process is used to build a facility capable of processing 400,000 tons of tar to yield 150,000 tons of carbon black. The second-phase project involves the construction of a coking facility with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, along with associated chemical product recovery systems; the excess coke oven gas generated by this coking facility will be used to produce 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year, while 80 million cubic meters of hydrogen will be produced as a by-product. 16 ★Shanxi Xinsi Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd. – Project for the comprehensive utilization of low-grade coal at a rate of 3 million tons per year. Location of construction: Yuanping Economic and Technological Development Zone. Scale of construction: Pyrolysis of low-grade coal at 3 million tons per year ； Main construction contents: This project primarily involves the construction of a low-rank coal pyrolysis production line with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, as well as pyrolysis gas purification facilities. In addition, utility systems, storage and transportation facilities, environmental protection measures, and auxiliary systems will also be installed. The project covers an area of approximately 520 mu. The total investment for the project is 1,361.39 million yuan, of which 404.81 million yuan comes from own funds, while 956.58 million yuan is provided through bank loans. 17 ★Xinshi 2 million tons/year coke oven complex with comprehensive utilization project for coke oven gas: This 2 million tons/year coke oven complex with comprehensive utilization project for coke oven gas is located in Yuanping Economic Development Zone, Yuanping City. It builds on the ongoing key investment project in Shanxi Province aimed at producing 2 million tons of coke and coal chemicals per year; by taking advantage of the synergies between upstream and downstream industries, it uses cobalt-based Fischer-Tropsch synthesis technology to produce fine chemicals from coke oven gas, while also leaving room for development in the hydrogen industry. 18 ★ Lingshi County Juyifu Kang Coal Coking Co., Ltd.: A project with an annual production capacity of 2.1 million tons of coke, using coking ovens of the JL6253D type with a chamber height of 6.25 meters and 3×63 chambers; in addition, it includes an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of methanol and 80,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. The project involves the construction of such coking ovens, as well as supporting systems for coal preparation, dry quenching equipment, waste heat recovery systems for dry quenching, a backup wet quenching system, equipment for the recovery of by-products, synthetic ammonia and methanol production facilities, along with various utility and auxiliary systems. The chemical recovery unit includes a condensation and blowing process, a desulfurization and ammonia stripping process, an ammonium sulfate process, and a benzene washing and removal process ； Public utilities and auxiliary facilities include a comprehensive water supply system, a reclaimed water system, a drainage system, substation stations, refrigeration plants, heating and pressure boosting stations, office buildings, and sewage treatment facilities. 19 ★ Lu’an Coking: 1.4 million tons per year capacity, with coke ovens having a height of 6.25 meters and being of the rammed-type. The project involves 2×60-hole rammed coke ovens, with a designed annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons of coke, 79,200 tons of tar, 18,900 tons of crude benzene, 15,800 tons of ammonium sulfate, and 603 million cubic meters of coke oven gas. Construction began in full on February 28, 2020, with completion and commissioning expected by June 30, 2021. 20 ★ Shanxi Linxin Coking’s 5.1 million tons per year capacity for producing coke, along with the associated methanol production facility. Shanxi Coking and Yongxin Group have agreed to restructure Shanxi Linxin Coking Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the new company) through capital increase and share expansion. Building on Yongxin Group’s existing assets and coke production capacity, and leveraging their technical expertise in the coking industry, both parties will jointly develop a facility with a capacity of 5.1 million tons per year for producing coke, as well as the associated methanol production facility; they will also construct methanol delivery pipelines to connect this new facility to olefin production plants. The methanol produced by the new company can meet the raw material needs of the 600,000 tons per year olefin production project. In the future, the 8 million tons of coal resources to be developed jointly by Xishan Coal and Electricity and Anze Yongxin will provide an important source of raw materials for the construction of a coking complex in Shanxi with a capacity of tens of millions of tons. 21 ★ Shanxi Jinhui Coal and Coke Co., Ltd.’s Green Coking Circular Economy Industrial Park: a new coking project with a capacity of 2.05 million tons per year, featuring carbonization chambers 6.78 meters in height and using ramming technology; the total investment for this project is 3.9 billion yuan, and the construction period is two years. Once completed, it will be able to produce 2.05 million tons of coke, 100,000 tons of LNG, and 250,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year. It is expected that the annual sales revenue will amount to 4.2 billion yuan, with a profit of 640 million yuan and tax payments of 160 million yuan. Additionally, this project will create more than 720 new jobs. 22 ★The 6.25-meter rammed coking upgrading project of Shanxi Pingyao Coal Chemical Group. The project is located on the South Outer Ring Road in Pingyao County, Shanxi Province. Construction is scheduled to begin on June 15, with the completion of the joint commissioning expected by November 15, 2021. This coking upgrading and renovation project was carried out in accordance with the requirements of Shanxi Province. It is located within the Pingyao Coal Chemical Group Industrial Park, covering an area of 706 mu. The project utilizes 2×62-hole JNDX3-6.25-11D type single-heating ramming furnaces. It mainly includes: coal preparation system, coke processing system, coking facilities, gas purification equipment, etc. With a total investment of around 2.5 billion yuan, the design incorporates the world’s most advanced production technologies and environmental protection facilities. It is designed in accordance with ultra-low emission standards, with strict control over the concentrations of pollutants emitted, aiming to improve environmental quality while ensuring increased production without an increase in pollution. 23 ★ Shanxi Yongdong Coal Tar Fine Processing and Comprehensive Utilization of Special Carbon Blacks Project. Yongdong Co., Ltd. is located in the New Coal Coking Industrial Park in Jishan County, Shanxi Province. The company focuses on the continuous expansion and efficient utilization of the coal tar deep processing industry chain. The total investment for this project is 293,893,800 yuan. The initial planned construction period for this project is 24 months. Once completed and put into operation, it will enable an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of refined phenols such as coking phenol and m-p-cresol, 20,000 tons of impregnation asphalt, and 70,000 tons of special carbon blacks such as high-performance low-rolling-resistance carbon blacks, carbon blacks for high-end products, conductive carbon blacks, and carbon blacks with high pigment content. 24 ★Sunshine Group’s 1.5 million tons/year coking upgrade project: Scale and scope of construction: A coking plant with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons will be built; it will be of the regenerative top-loading type, with a carbonization chamber height of 6.78 meters. The design was carried out by the design institute of MCC Coking & Refractory (Dalian) Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. Advanced technologies such as pressure regulation for individual carbonization chambers and segmented heating for low-nitrogen combustion are to be employed. Additionally, facilities for dry quenching of coke at a rate of 200 t/h, 18 MW of waste heat power generation, as well as systems for chemical product recovery and environmental protection, will be installed. Current progress: The feasibility study is currently being prepared, along with the procedures for capacity replacement and registration. 25 ★ Datuhe 5 million-ton new coking project: The Datuhe facility is being upgraded to a coking complex with an annual capacity of 5 million tons. Through this transformation, the facility will produce chemicals such as methanol, LNG, synthetic ammonia, and high-purity hydrogen. It will also meet ecological and environmental needs by enabling the use of LNG for residential purposes and by replacing coal with waste heat for heating, thereby further improving the atmospheric conditions and air quality in the Lüliang urban area. 26 ★ Longmen Technology Group Hejin Yumenkou Coking Co., Ltd.: A coking project with an annual production capacity of 1.72 million tons, featuring coke ovens with a height of 6.8 meters. Based on the phasing out of existing production capacity, Hejin Yumenkou Coking Co., Ltd. has decided to invest 2.5 billion yuan in building this new coking facility within its current plant site. The construction includes 2×62-chamber coke ovens with a height of 6.80 meters, 2×125 t/h dry quenching systems (with wet quenching as a backup option), a gas purification system, and 2×15 MW waste heat power generation units. 27 ★Shanxi Taida New Energy Co., Ltd. – 1.92 million tons/year coking capacity expansion project. This project involves Shanxi Taida New Energy Co., Ltd. expanding its coking capacity by 1.92 million tons per year; it is a result of Zhengtai Gasification and Lida Coking replacing the existing coking capacity and integrating superior resources. It is the first company in the city to complete the process of confirming such capacity replacement. The total investment in the project is 2 billion yuan. Coking is carried out using 2×70-chamber coke ovens with a height of 7.65 meters, which are of the single-heating, multi-stage heating type and feature large volumes as well as top-loading mechanisms. The project includes supporting systems such as a coal preparation system, a dry quenching system, a waste heat power generation unit, and a gas purification system. The construction period is 18 months, and upon completion, it will be able to create more than 1,000 jobs, generate annual sales revenue of 4.4 billion yuan, and yield annual tax revenues of 110 million yuan.
