The clean coal-to-gas facility built by Anhui Keda Clean Energy has been successfully put into operation! Author/Source: Gasification World Date: 2022-10-20 Clicks: 15 On October 18, the clean coal gas production project at Chaohu Yunhai Magnesium Industry, undertaken by Anhui Keda Clean Energy Co., Ltd., was successfully connected to the gas network and began operations. The clean coal gas production unit in this project utilizes Anhui Keda Clean Energy’s modular, staged regenerative clean coal gasification technology; it provides heat energy for the roasting of 100,000 tons of metallic magnesium at Chaohu Yunhai Magnesium Industry Co., Ltd. The system has a rated capacity of 100,000 Nm3/h, and it consists of 2 sets of coal gas production units, each with a rated output of 50,000 Nm3/h, along with accompanying auxiliary systems. In this coal-to-gas plant, the fly ash generated by the gasification system is used as fuel in rotary kilns for comprehensive reuse, thereby improving the overall efficiency of coal utilization. As the first application of Anhui Keda Clean Energy’s gasification technology in the magnesium metal industry, the Chaohu Yunhai project underwent technical optimizations during its initial design phase, with a focus on the magnesium metal production process, in order to achieve the greatest possible compatibility with downstream production processes. During the construction process, strict quality control was applied, and the desired results were achieved: the thermal efficiency was above 95%, while the comprehensive coal utilization rate reached 98%. This significantly reduced the operating costs of the enterprise and improved its economic performance. In terms of environmental protection as well, compared to traditional fixed-bed gasification, Anhui Keda Clean Energy’s clean gasification technology results in an H2S level of ≤20mg/Nm3 and a dust level of ≤10mg/Nm3; moreover, there is zero emission of phenol-cyanide compounds and wastewater, thereby effectively alleviating the environmental pressures on enterprises.
