On June 27, 2025, the Investment Promotion Event and Project Signing Ceremony for the Asia-Europe Commodity Trade Expo (China) was held at the Urumqi International Convention and Exhibition Center. On the day of the event, the Zhundong Development Zone and Jinkai New Energy Co., Ltd. signed a contract for a coal-based new materials project. Leveraging the coal resources of Jungdong, this project utilizes modern coal chemical technologies to produce high-value chemical products. It is reported that as Xinjiang’s first development zone to achieve an industrial output value of over 100 billion yuan, the Zhundong Development Zone is leveraging its 390 billion tons of coal reserves to focus on four key industries: coal, electricity, aluminum, and silicon. It is working to accelerate the development of two industry clusters worth over 100 billion yuan each in modern coal chemical processing and new silicon-aluminum materials, as well as three industry clusters worth around 10 billion yuan each in clean coal utilization, coal-based power generation, and new energy sources. The signing and implementation of this Jinkai New Energy project represent not only the company’s high appreciation for the development potential and business environment of the Dong Development Zone, but also a practical example of the two parties working together for mutual benefit and shared success. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will enable the in-depth development and efficient utilization of coal resources, effectively promote coordination across the upstream and downstream industrial chains, and contribute to the high-quality economic development of the Zhundong Development Zone.
