Implementation of the 2022 version of the PTMEG national standard / Author/Source: Sinochem New Network Date: 2022-11-14 Clicks: 19 On November 1, the standard \"Polytetramethylene ether glycol for industrial use (PTMEG)\"(GB/T 25254-2022)**, revised under the leadership of Sichuan Tianhua Fubang Chemical Co., Ltd., came into effect. The old PTMEG** standard was established 10 years ago. Over the past 10 years, foreign companies with advanced PTMEG production technologies have come to China to invest in setting up factories, and domestic companies with sufficient capabilities have also gradually adopted PTMEG production technologies. As a result, China’s PTMEG production capacity has grown rapidly, with significant changes taking place in production processes and standards. Furthermore, the spandex industry downstream has increasingly stringent requirements for the quality of PTMEG products. To promote the high-quality development of the industry, the **Standardization Committee designated Sichuan Tianhua Fubang Company as the lead entity for revising the PTMEG standards in March 2020. Sichuan Tianhua Fubang Company actively investigated the products and production status of domestic PTMEG manufacturers, researched relevant domestic and international standards, examined various performance indicators and testing methods, and prepared draft revisions to the PTMEG standards as well as test plans. To ensure the scientific validity and feasibility of the draft PTMEG standard, the working group held numerous discussion sessions. Subsequently, data were collected through experiments conducted by various manufacturers, the data were analyzed, additional experiments were carried out, and further analysis of the collected data led to the formulation of a draft for public comment. After extensive consultation with enterprises in the industry and those in downstream sectors, the PTMEG standard was reviewed by an expert panel, and was ultimately approved for issuance and implementation by the **Standard Committee** and the **State Administration for Market Regulation**.
