Commencement of China Coal Shaanxi’s 250,000 t/a EVA chain extension and enhancement project along with the 250,000 t/a LDPE/EVA plant

On June 17, the groundbreaking ceremony for the China Coal Shaanxi 250,000 t/a EVA chain extension and enhancement project, along with the 250,000 t/a LDPE/EVA facility, was held, marking the official start of the full-scale construction phase for these projects. As a key project of China National Coal Group, the 250,000 t/a LDPE/EVA project in Shaanxi incorporates the advanced LUPOTECH T® tubular reactor technology from Basell Company. The construction scope includes a compression unit, a polymerization unit, an extrusion granulation unit, a high-pressure separation system (for degassing the pellets, processing them, and transporting them to the inlet of the packaging silo), a hydraulic oil unit, systems for injecting modifiers/copolymers, VA drying and purification facilities, equipment for raw materials and auxiliary substances as well as systems for thermal incineration of waste gases, an oil treatment system, reactor cleaning facilities, storage areas for used oil and VA, and vehicle loading/unloading stations. It also includes utility systems and other necessary auxiliary facilities. The project will be carried out under the EPC turnkey contract model, with the goal of creating a modern chemical plant that integrates digitalization, sustainability, and intelligence. Upon completion, the project is expected to produce 250,000 tons of LDPE/EVA products per year, filling the market gap for high-end polyolefin products in the region. It will also drive industrial upgrading by extending and diversifying the product chain, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the chemical industry in line with the \"dual carbon\" goals.
