On April 16, 2026, Beijing MingYang Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “MingYang Hydrogen Energy”) officially signed a series of sales contracts for hydrogen production equipment with Spain’s KT Company in Huelva, the capital city of the Andalusia autonomous community in Spain. Under the sales contract, MingYang Hydrogen Energy will serve as the core supplier of hydrogen energy equipment and solutions. It will provide KT with 1 MW of AEM and 25 MW of ALK hydrogen production systems, along with related services. Together, both parties will embark on a new chapter of in-depth cooperation in the green hydrogen industry in China and the Middle East. The 1 MW AEM hydrogen production equipment contracted between the two parties is scheduled to be delivered and commissioned in 2026. It will be Spain’s first 1 MW AEM hydrogen production demonstration project. According to the latest data from the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2), Spain’s renewable hydrogen industry has entered a crucial phase of development; nearly 400 projects have been registered across the entire value chain, with total planned investment exceeding 33 billion euros. The purchase of the 25MW ALK alkaline electrolysis hydrogen production system, agreed upon in this synchronization, will further strengthen the long-term cooperation between the two parties, providing solid equipment and technical support for the implementation of large-scale green hydrogen projects by MingYang Hydrogen Energy in Spain and across Europe. On April 10, 2026, the **Energy Bureau held a meeting to advance regional pilot projects related to hydrogen energy in the energy sector. The meeting emphasized the need to fully recognize the significant strategic importance of developing the hydrogen energy industry. Hydrogen energy is an important direction in the global energy technology revolution and industrial transformation. It represents a key area for China to build a modern industrial system and foster new forms of productivity. Moreover, it serves as a strategic tool to ensure **energy security and promote a green and low-carbon transition in energy use. By 2026, MingYang Hydrogen Energy had already secured contract orders for approximately 80 MW. The conclusion of this partnership represents not only a practical outcome of the close collaboration between MingYang Hydrogen Energy and the Spanish company KT in the field of green hydrogen, but it also marks the first actual delivery in China of a single-megawatt-class AEM electrolyzer that meets EU (CE) certification standards, which holds significant symbolic importance. Pan Yongle, CEO of MingYang Hydrogen Energy, said that with the signing this month of the company’s first sales contract for PEM electrolyzers that meet EU (CE) certification standards with a client in Romania, the company is now able to offer a full range of products – including ALK, PEM, and AEM types – that comply with EU (CE) standards. In the future, the company will intensify its efforts to develop the market in the EU and localize its maintenance services, aiming to provide comprehensive technical and service support for hydrogen energy projects in Spain and across the EU.
