I recently learned that BASF offers fixed-bed catalysts with 60% nickel content, which can be used for hydrogenation purposes. Since I couldn’t find any information online, I came here to see if there are any other users who have used it or know something about it; I hope to have the chance to exchange information. :)
The 60% NiO catalyst is used for the pre-conversion catalysts in syngas production units; it is also utilized in the hydrogenation treatment of petroleum products
Does syngas pre-conversion refer to water-gas shift? What was mentioned earlier is BASF’s catalyst with pure nickel and alumina as the carrier
When this catalyst is used in oils, does it saturate the olefins? I’ve seen those with 20% nickel
As far as I know, it seems to be used for aldehyde removal, but it should also be able to remove olefins and aromatics. However, only those who have used it can tell about its specific applications.
