Hello, experts. The sulfur alcohol content in the refined jet fuel produced through jet fuel hydrogenation is between 5 and 15 PPM, but why doesn’t it pass the Doctor tests? What’s the reason for that?
Are copper corrosion and silver corrosion acceptable? What are the values for microwater and total sulfur again? Additionally, in the national standards, the thiol sulfur content and the Dr. experiment are in an either-or relationship
It’s not just thiol that affects the Drabek test; in the presence of thiol, even trace amounts of hydrogen sulfide can cause the test to fail. It is recommended to conduct a lead acetate test to determine the hydrogen sulfide level, or to pass the aviation fuel sample through activated carbon before performing the Drabek test.
