Our laboratory has developed a silicone product, a white solid with a glass transition temperature of 30–40 degrees, which is adjustable. It is very hard and somewhat brittle below the glass transition temperature. It becomes soft and plastic above the glass transition temperature. It won’t burn; if it does, it will just melt without producing any smoke. I’m not sure where it could be used; something with similar performance, and whose performance can also be adjusted a bit.
