On December 5, 2024, the Duofuduo Yihua Central China Fluorosilicon Industrial Park project, with a total investment of 9.6 billion yuan, commenced construction in the Baiyang Industrial Park of Yichang High-Tech Zone. Phase 1 of the project plans to produce 60,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, 20,000 tons of electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid, 30,000 tons of anhydrous aluminum fluoride, 20,000 tons of lithium hexafluorophosphate, and high-purity silicon tetrafluoride. Electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid is widely used in the semiconductor and chip industries, while lithium hexafluorophosphate is one of the key materials for new energy batteries; it has promising market prospects and also lays a foundation for further expansion of the industrial chain. Once the Duofuduo Yihua Central China Fluorosilicon Industrial Park project is fully completed and put into operation, it is expected to generate an annual output value of 20 billion yuan. Fluorosilicic acid is the main raw material in the fluorosilicon industry; it is produced as a by-product during the concentration and reaction of phosphoric acid. In Baiyang Industrial Park, the phosphorus chemical industry cluster is taking shape. Once the Yihua Phosphorus Chemical Project and the Bampu Yihua Project come online, they will be able to produce 800,000 tons of concentrated and reactive phosphoric acid per year, as well as 48,000 tons of fluorosilicic acid as a by-product. This large volume ensures an adequate supply to meet the needs of the fluorosilicon industry.
