The electronic specialty gas project in Yichang and Yuan, Hubei, with a total investment of 2.018 billion yuan, has been completed

On September 1, the monitoring report on the environmental protection inspection for the phased completion of Hubei Heyuan New Materials Co., Ltd.’s Yichang Electronic Special Gases and Functional Materials Industrial Park project was officially made public. The total investment in this project is 2,018,642,400 yuan, and it is located in the Tianjiahe area of the Yaojiagang Chemical Industry Park in Yichang High-Tech Zone, Hubei Province. The main construction components of the project include the establishment of new product lines for fluorine- and silicon-based electronic specialty gases and functional materials, as well as the corresponding storage (tanks), filling systems, and other infrastructure. The project is planned to produce 182,750 tons per year of 23 types of fluorine- and silicon-based electronic specialty gases and functional materials. Among them, the first phase of the project includes a trichlorosilane production facility along with associated auxiliary facilities ； The second phase of the project covers 22 main products such as nitrogen trifluoride, tungsten hexafluoride, silicon-based electronic specialty gases, and silane coupling agents, as well as related by-products. The specific production capacities include: 1,000 tons per year of nitrogen trifluoride (4N), 500 tons per year of tungsten hexafluoride (6N), 80,000 tons per year of photovoltaic-grade trichlorosilane (3N), 1,000 tons per year of semiconductor-grade trichlorosilane (5N), 300 tons per year of semiconductor-grade dichlorodihydrosilane (5N), 15,000 tons per year of fiber-optic-grade silicon tetrachloride (4N), 500 tons per year of semiconductor-grade silicon tetrachloride (5N), 16,000 tons per year of industrial-grade TEOS (2N), as well as various other silane coupling agent products. Construction of this project officially began in August 2022, and it was completed and put into commission in December 2024. On July 14, 2025, Hubei Heyuan New Materials Co., Ltd. completed the reapplication for its pollution discharge permit, and began trial operations in August 2025. The completion of this project marks an important step forward for Hubei and Yuanxin New Materials in the fields of electronic specialty gases and functional materials, providing essential material support for the development of China’s semiconductor industry.
