A unit that has been in operation for seven and a half years showed, over the past year, that the 1.0MPa steam condensate pipeline after production use had leaked three times, and its wall thickness had noticeably decreased, especially at the elbows; May I ask: What causes this? Are there any methods for prevention and control?
It’s been seven and a half years – that’s quite some time. It also depends on the materials used. The bends are the most prone to erosion; there have been three leaks. Is thickness monitoring carried out regularly?
The pipe is a bit too thin, resulting in heavy erosion; it’s better to use one or two pipes in parallel.
The positional erosion in both gas and liquid phases is quite severe

Production has been going on for so long now; many pipelines need to be inspected, especially those under high temperature and pressure
All are made of ordinary carbon steel; Thickness measurement has never been carried out, resulting in high production risks: L!

Is the location of the elbow the point where the gas and liquid phases meet?
Are there any regulations specifying how often the wall thickness of material pipelines and utility pipelines should be inspected? Or must testing be carried out during maintenance?
