These days, most storage tanks are equipped with gauge measurements, and manual measurement is rarely used. Even when it comes to calibrating the instruments, only simple periodic checks are required, which is certainly not as much as conducting manual measurements on a frequent basis over a long period of time. It would be troublesome if nitrogen were released right after a single measurement. Generally, nitrogen sealing is automatic; when the pressure in the storage tank drops, the nitrogen valve opens automatically to supply more nitrogen
When using a parameter comparison table or when the level gauge malfunctions, it is necessary to take manual measurements. Before taking the measurements, the nitrogen seal should be turned off to release the nitrogen, and it should be reactivated after the measurements are taken. In my opinion, this has negligible impact on the safety of the medium. Of course, in the presence of toxic and harmful substances, personal protective measures are essential!

Without releasing the nitrogen, opening the gauge port results in mixed gases that are unsafe for personnel.

Manual gauging is relatively rare. The general procedure is to turn off the nitrogen seal in advance before starting the measurement. Be careful to take protective measures when measuring. Apply nitrogen sealing immediately after the measurement is completed. This process is short, and the impact it has is negligible.
Use quick gauge measurement methods and pay attention to personal protection. Release the nitrogen pressure; wait until the pressure in the storage tank is below 0.1 KPA before opening the oil measurement port. Otherwise, the gas inside the tank will escape through the port along with a large amount of liquid, causing greater damage.
