This post is purely a whim, born from my observation of the general location of the factory canteen in a certain project. Chemical plants (especially large ones) usually have a large campus area; each branch has its own canteen, the main part of the plant has an administrative staff canteen, and the residential area has canteens in the single-person dormitories. Generally, the distance to these canteens is no more than 300–500 meters, while for those located further away, meals are delivered by designated vehicles. Question: 1. How far is your workplace from the cafeteria? 2. The ones farthest from the factory area are usually the security guards; have you observed how they handle their meals? Measured on the map; the straight-line distance is approximately 480m
The farthest position in our factory is more than one kilometer away from the cafeteria, and the staff there are responsible for delivering meals. The rest of the people mostly went to eat by electric bike.
20 minutes, about 1.5 kilometers; 40 minutes for the round trip, 30 minutes for eating – that’s roughly the time for the lunch break.
2 hours and 30 minutes for lunch break; there are shuttle buses for commuting to and from the production area
The cafeteria is on the third floor, while the offices are on the second floor. No open flames are allowed in the cafeteria. Meal service.
Many companies use this configuration; it is important to pay attention to fire safety as well as pest control for rats and cockroaches.
I wonder if large companies have Muslim canteens?
Yes, all petrochemical enterprises in Xinjiang have them; those with a large number of ethnic minority employees have dedicated halal canteens, while those with fewer such employees have dedicated halal service counters. Mainland companies generally have halal counters.
