Our ammonia stripping tower just won’t start. The ammonia breakdown content obtained from the middle section is also insufficient.
Why use a two-stage aeration method?
Our facility uses two-stage stripping, but the results are not satisfactory. In the lower tower (the ammonia stripping tower), it seems that ammonia and hydrogen sulfide cannot be completely stripped out; they remain dissolved in the water, resulting in ammonia-containing condensate that does not meet the required standards and is therefore unusable. The additional pipelines are used to send this condensate to the upstream gasification unit, but the pumps used for transporting it often overheat and shut down due to excessive current flow, as what is being pumped is no longer a pure liquid but rather sulfur-containing flocs. When contacted, the design institute did not provide a satisfactory explanation; it was ultimately stated that there were issues with the design of the stripping process. Note: The valve that connects the gas from the lower tower to that of the upper tower is usually kept fully open on our end; the manager said this is to supply stripping gas to the upper tower. What does the original poster think? Is it used to regulate the load or to provide stripping steam as well?
