As the title suggests, according to the dimensions shown in the diagram, is it not necessary to use insulation rings for the upper part of the tower (DN400)? Is it feasible to let the equipment flanges serve as insulation rings? Moreover, the SH_T 3098-2011 Standard for the Design of Petrochemical Towers requires that an insulation ring be installed every 3–3.5 meters.

A thermal insulation ring can be installed around the upper part of the tower bottom near the conical seal, while it is not necessary to install one for the 400 tower section. In fact, it’s also possible to do without insulation rings; a cladding-type insulation structure can be used, though it will cost more money.
