Under normal conditions, in a stabilizer tower, the pressure at the top of the tower should increase while the temperature there should decrease. The temperature at the top can also be controlled by adjusting the reflux rate. Currently, however, as more reflux is used in this stabilizer tower, the temperature rises to 62°C; the pressure at the top of the tower is around 1 MPa, and the temperature continues to climb. The temperature on the 35th level of the tower is also increasing continuously. How can this be adjusted?

That’s because the non-condensable gas is causing problems; you need to lower the pressure at the top of the tower slightly in order to release that gas! Oh, the pressure of the dry gas outlet device also needs to be reduced a bit at the same time!

As the pressure in the tower increases, in order to maintain the original separation efficiency, the temperature at the top of the tower rises. You can check the temperature after cooling; if it is within normal ranges, it is recommended to open the valve connecting the stabilizer’s top reflux tank to the fuel gas main line in order to reduce the pressure at the top of the tower. To do this, the hot bypass valve should be closed, allowing more gas to condense

It’s not the case that the greater the backflow, the lower the temperature; when the gas-liquid ratio exceeds a certain value, tower flooding occurs!
