On March 20, within the Qingshui Industrial Park in Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province, the largest equipment of the first-phase project of this initiative – the 400,000 tons per year syngas-to-ethylene glycol production facility – was successfully installed: the dibutylene removal tower. The project includes 2 monoester towers and 2 oxalate absorption towers, as well as 1 each of a first dealcoholization tower, a dibutylene glycol removal tower, a refining tower, and an ethylene glycol recovery tower. All of these are large-diameter, oversized equipment, with a total weight of around 2,400 tons. Among them, the debutanediol tower is made of S30408+Q345R material, with a diameter of 7.5 meters and a height of 86 meters; its lifting weight is 850 tons, making it the largest tower in the ethylene glycol plant. The deglycolization tower features thin wall thickness, complex internal components, and high manufacturing difficulties. The cylinder segments and various parts are manufactured at LANSI Heavy Equipment’s Lanzhou facility, then transported to the project site in sections, where they are assembled and welded on-site by LANSI Heavy Equipment’s mobile factory. After the equipment is manufactured in two sections at the off-site manufacturing site, it is transported to locations adjacent to the equipment foundations where the horizontal assembly and joint sealing are carried out. Subsequently, a pressure test is conducted, and finally, the construction contractor—China Chemical Engineering 11th Construction Co., Ltd.—proceeds with the overall lifting of the tower after installing its various components. During the lifting process, a 3,200-ton crawler crane is used as the main lifting device, while a 650-ton crawler crane is used to assist with the lifting by pulling from behind. After nearly 2 hours of gradual lifting, the 820-ton, 86-meter-tall \"Giant Vajra\" was safely and smoothly installed in place. Once the tower was erected and the lights were turned on, it marked the successful completion of the first equipment installation task following the resumption of work on the Shenhua Yulin Circular Economy Comprehensive Utilization Project; subsequent equipment was also installed one after another.
