Why is the spring of the exhaust valve in a reciprocating vacuum pump thicker than that of the intake valve?
The spring used for export has a high elastic coefficient, which enables it to reach the required opening pressure. In a reciprocating pressure system, the outlet pressure is higher than the inlet pressure; the valve opens only after being compressed to a certain pressure – in other words, the exhaust valve opens once the exhaust pressure reaches the elastic force of the spring!
