May I ask if it is possible to run hydraulic diaphragm pumps for long periods of time under idle stroke conditions? Is it possible for the pump to be damaged?
Where is the damage? Based on the principle, the pump head experiences a short stroke or no stroke at all, so damage is completely impossible. It’s fine for the Z-axis part of the gearbox to operate with either minimal eccentricity or no eccentricity at all.
Running without a medium causes damage to the bearings
First, there is a medium; please read the question carefully. Second, there will be no damage to the bearing even in the absence of a medium
