Repair and maintenance of the impeller: At the beginning of its operation and during all regular inspections, whenever the opportunity arises, it is necessary to check whether the impeller has any defects such as cracks, wear, or dust accumulation. Whenever possible, it is necessary to keep the impeller clean, and regularly use a wire brush to remove dust and rust buildup from it. As operating time increases, this dust cannot adhere evenly to the impeller, which disrupts its balance and leads to rotor vibration. As long as the impeller has been repaired, it needs to be rebalanced. If possible, a portable runout balancer can be used to perform balancing on-site. Before performing dynamic balancing, it is necessary to check whether all set screws are tightened. Since the impeller has been operating in an unbalanced condition for some time, these bolts may have loosened. Maintenance of the housing and intake chamber: Apart from regularly checking for severe wear inside the housing and intake chamber and removing any significant dust accumulation, no other special maintenance is required for these areas. Regularly check that all fastening bolts are tightened. For fans with compression bolts, compress the butterfly springs on the feet to the installation height specified in the drawings. Maintenance of the bearing area: Regularly check the supply of lubricating oil to the bearings. If there is oil leakage from the housing, the bolts on the end caps can be tightened a bit; if that doesn’t work, it may be necessary to replace the sealing gasket with a new one. When the lubricant for bearings is used properly, it should be replaced at least once every six months. The first replacement is carried out after approximately 200 hours of operation, while the second replacement takes place after 1 to 2 months. Thereafter, the lubricant should be checked once a week; if it has not deteriorated, the replacement interval can be extended to every 2 to 4 months. When replacing the lubricant, it is necessary to use lubricant of the specified grade (as indicated on the general diagram), and the old lubricant in the tank must be completely drained and the tank cleaned before new lubricant can be poured in. If replacing the fan bearings, the following points should be noted: Before installing the new bearings, both the bearings and the bearing housing must be thoroughly clean. Place the bearing in oil at a temperature of about 70–80°C to heat it, and then install it on the shaft; do not force it into place to avoid damaging the shaft. The maintenance of the other auxiliary equipment – the maintenance of auxiliary equipment such as motors, electric actuators, instruments, and meters is detailed in their respective user manuals. These instruction manuals are provided by the respective manufacturers of the associated products, and our factory includes them in the packages to supply them to users. Maintenance when the fan is not in use: When the fan is not in use and the ambient temperature is below 5°C, any remaining water in the equipment and pipelines should be drained to prevent the equipment and pipelines from freezing damage. Maintenance tasks for fans that are not in use and stored for long periods of time: (1) Coat the surfaces of the bearings and other key components with rust preventive oil to prevent rusting. (2) The fan rotor should be manually rotated half a turn (i.e., 180°) every two weeks or so. Before making the rotation, marks should be made on the shaft end so that the point that was originally at the top ends up at the bottom after the rotation.
